Thick and rich in the mouth. Coffee, chocolate, and oats blend beautiful. Nice bittersweet finish, with lingering anise and molasses. One of my personal favorite stouts for sipping while sitting back and relaxing. This one warms the soul, fool. JCB (1796), Durham, North Carolina, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jan 4, 2008 Bottled 4/21/05 and still aging gracefully. The chocolate malts have subsided just a tad, and I think this brew is marginally better when fresh. But it’s still got a big beefy oatmeal body with traces of roasted barley in there (though the mild crispness imparted by hops is long gone) and a nice smooth bready quality. Very solid brew, as ever. riversideAK (2792), Shoreline, Washington, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jan 4, 2008 Definite chocolate and cola aroma like the previous rater stated. Pours dark almost black with almost no head. It also has a cola flavor with a nice crispness, chocolate, oatmeal, brown sugar, and a light roast. A little heat in the finish. This seemed a tad thin to me though, and could be pretty damn drinkable. A unique imperial stout. frankenstein (64), Livermore, California, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jan 1, 2008 Has a crisp cola, chocolate aroma. Has a nice dark appearance, just like you would expect from an Imp. Stout. Nice roasted chocolate taste. Would recomend. AgentSteve (1379), SF Bay Area, California, USA

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Dec 24, 2007 Pours an opaque black with a creamy chocolate milk head that holds its ground and laces as it lets go. Smells of chocolate, molasses and hints of vanilla. Tastes of chocolate notes, roasted coffee beans and a hint of alcohol. Creamy and full in the mouth, almost chewy. Though this is a big beer it is highly drinkable. A very delicious stout from stoudt.

Aroma is roasted malt and a touch of chocolate and roasted coffee, also a touch of alcohol. Flavor is sweet, chocolate, bitter coffee, a touch of oatmeal, maybe some whisky or bourbon hiding in the background. Nice beer. pintsize (1042), Austin, Texas, USA

Roasted heavy chocolate aroma. Alcohol is present in the taste in finish but not in the aroma. Can pick up on hints of figs and maybe even some raisins in there. Just a bit too much alcohol in the flavor overpowers what else is there. Not the best Imperial Stout in my opinion, but a good brew, nonetheless.
