Feb 3, 2007 Bottle, pours a opaque black with a thin dark tan head. Aromas of burnt malts and coffee. Thats about it. Nice for a stout, but I would like a little more complexity. Flavors are about the same, mostly a coffee, roasted barley flavor, very thin mouthfeel for an Imperial. Overall, I was not very impressed with this beer, in fact I was quite dissappointed.

Jan 28, 2007 Bottle. Loads of sweet milk chocolate in the nose, light roast. Opaque brown black with a creamy light brown head. Body is super creamy, smooth, medium body but light and chocolaty with tons and tons of malt. Light roast and oatmeal toward the back. Light dose of warming, whisky-ish alcohol, but otherwise chocolate. Light bitter tar in the back of the palate, light terminal sourness. Not the biggest or most flavorful IS, but rounded and essentially flawless.

Jan 25, 2007 12oz Bottle (2005?): Almost black pour with a short lived deep brown head. Thick oatey and fibrous aroma. Salty, dried grains, dark chocolate, some light hops are also evident. The flavor is oatey, hearty & slightly smokey with a tobacco character and some dark chocolate. Coffeeish middle. The sweetness is subtle and is reminiscent of Bosco chocolate syrup. There’s a late, light dry hop hint. The finish is roasty and dry. A well made Stout.

Jan 24, 2007 Dark dark brown, not quite black with a medium tan head on top. Nice flavour, mostly dry and roasty and not so much an imperial stout flavour. The body was a bit thin as well. This is kind of a session like stout, flavourful, good, but not special.

Jan 24, 2007 Poured black with a tan/brown head. Aroma of roasted malt and chocolate. Sweet as well. Very good aroma. Taste was much of the same. Alcohol well hidden. Fairly rich mouthfeel, would have liked a little more. Sweet refreshing ending. Pretty impressed.

Jan 23, 2007 12oz bottle. Opaque black with brown head that disappears quickly. Aroma is mainly cocoa powder and coffee. Chocolately; bitterness is evident, but balanced out with roasted malt sweetness. great beer.

Jan 22, 2007 Bottle: Black pour, nice head. Chocolate / coffee aroma, very sweet. Very much enjoyed, this made up for the Pat’s losing to Peyton’s Colts!
