Commercial Description:
This unique ale merges the smooth and complex richness of an Oatmeal Stout with the assertive hoppiness of Imperial Stout. Fat Dog has an inviting silky-black color, a prominent roasted malt character, and a chocolatey, coffee-like finish.

12 oz bottle. Dark brown with a ring of tan foam for a head. Deep roasted nut nose, bitter chocolate notes. Medium sweet flavor, roasty malt, bittersweet chocolate, a small cinnamonlike note or two. BIttersweet dark chocolate finish with more light cinnamon notes. Nice, full body, smooth satin. Very nice!

12 OZ bottle and thanks to whoever sent this (i have a few bottles now from different people). Pours a pitch black with ruby hightlights and an average size but super-dense tan head. Nose is molasses, oats, espresso, and alcohol. Tastes like it smells plus a little salty with a divine finish and aftertaste (a bit salty though). Medium body. Medium/high carbonation. I don’t normally care for Oatmeal stouts, but this one is grand!

12 oz bottle. Dark brown with a settling tan head and lace sheets. Woody scotch nose with berries and oatmeal. Tastes like it smells with dark chocolate. Medium body. Simple with prominent alcohol.

12oz bottle. Dark and opaque with a tan head. Sweet brownie nose. Vanilla and nutty and cocoa aromas. Sweet and smooth body. Great coffee flavor. Full with a chocolate nuance. Toffee and alcohol middle. Coffee bitter hop finish. Smooth, delicious stout. Mild coffee, mild yet noticable burn and a cloying finish. Layered with a smooth transition of flavors and aspects of the palate. WOOF!

A very fat stout. Almost could be classified as an Imperial oatmeal stout. Brings a heavy and smooth taste with great drinkability. Typical stout offerings with toastiness and unusual dryness on the end. Very Nice.

Thanks Dennis! Pours black with a thin beige head which quickly dissipates. Strong chocolate and coffee notes, could smell it since i cracked it. Sweet taste, thick, choclate, coffee, hazel, with the slightest hint of alcohol. Malt works wonderfully. Very good impy, very well balanced. just delish. unfortunately i’ve heard it doesn’t age well, as i have a few tucked away back in michigan just chillin...
