bottled 11/05 via trade with TheBeerCellar2 - Pours a deep dark brown with a tan head that faded to a faint film quickly. Has a very nice roasted chocolate aroma. Flavor is much the same but with some light esters. Medium body and mouthfeel. Alcohol is well hidden. A very good beer. Thanks Matt.

Good brew! Fresh from the brewer, it pours almost opaque into the glass, with a huge dark tan head, very sudsy and creamy. The aromas are chocolate, roasts, coffee and dark fruit. Very nice roasted sweetness flavor, intermixed with dark cherries and a grainy bitter finish.... The alcohol is well integrated, but distinct nonetheless. Quite a light mouthfeel for such heavy complexities at work. I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed it.

Pours a thick tar with a creamy thin head. The aroma is sweet with subtle hints of chocolate and roasted malt. I was expecting a heavy and full bodied beer by its appearance, however, it is the opposite. It is a light beer and very easy to drink.

12 oz bottle. Dark brown almost black pour with thin tan head. Aroma is heavy on the roasted malt with some chocolate and coffee. The flavor was strong roasted malt and chicory coffee with some sourness, cherry cough syrup, chocolate and piney hops elements. Decently thick on the palate. Great for a beer, but just good for an imperial stout.

Thich and black with no head. Smell of roasted malts and slightly of coffee. Taste is thick with some chocolate flavors. Alcohol is noticeable.

This is a stout to be reckoned with. The alcohol is masked very well by the taste of chocolate and roasted flavors. This is a monster of a porter that isn’t overwhelming. Not really "refreshing", but would be an excellent beer to have in the winter as it warms until the last drop. Quite good, it sets a standard for some beers to follow.

12 oz. bottle. Pours black with thin dark brown head. Aroma is some chocolate but not intense. Mouthfeel is surprisingly light for an IS. Taste has chocolate to it and the hops are complementary and not overwhleming. This IS is different in that it isn’t overpowering to the senses, the taste is clean and as another reviewer put it "refreshing" which in interesting for a big beer. Me likey.

This is a tasty beer. Full oatmeal taste with a full true palate. Taste is roasted with slight mocha overtones. Aroma is crisp with a bit of hop, but not overwhelming. Good. No, very good.
