Jun 27, 2006 This is a tasty beer. Full oatmeal taste with a full true palate. Taste is roasted with slight mocha overtones. Aroma is crisp with a bit of hop, but not overwhelming. Good. No, very good.

Jun 27, 2006 Pours out black with a huge brown head. Smells of chocolate, coffee, roasted malts, sweet candy and a little bit of hops. Taste is refreshing (?) for an Imperial Stout. Almost able to drink this in large quantities...except I only have 1 bottle. Very nice, perhaps you could say this is an imperial stout for the summer days. Id buy this again if I saw it, and if it was locally around I would probably drink more of this than would be healthy for my body.

Jun 22, 2006 Bottle. Pours black with a huge brown head. Faint aroma of molasses and light roast coffee. Initial flavor is sweet and dark chocolaty. The finish has some hop bitterness, along with some merlot and roasty flavors. A tad amount of alcohol detected as it goes. Down. Pretty solid, but not memorable enough that I would seek out again.

Jun 22, 2006 Pours black into a snifter. Mocha colored micro head quickly subsides leaving no lacing. Dark espresso and chocolate notes. Smooth and creamy with upfront chocolate with a lasting bitter chocolate finish.

Jun 19, 2006 Pours like a coke. Not a whole lotta head but a nice aroma - alcohol, winey. More carbonation than I expected. Not an overly creamy stout - rather thin. I thought the flavor was delicious - traditional stout flavoring. I enjoyed it but there are so many good stouts out there - probably not a repeat purchase.

Jun 17, 2006 Bottled on Feb 22 2006. Pours pretty much black with a small-moderate brown head. Aroma of coffee and raosted malts, some bitter chocolate and oats in the background. Flavor is coffee and chocolate up front, some acidity and a slightly bitter chalky roasted malt finish. Alcohol is discernible. A little thin for an imperial stout. Low carbonation. Not the best imperial I’ve had, but not bad either.

Jun 12, 2006 Pours dark black with some light brown head. Aroma is slightly roasted chocolate, but nothing too noticeable. Flavor does have some noticeable oatmeal to it, some chocolate, and a not so great acidity. I would not have guessed it was 9% abv. Pretty light in body for a big stout. Nothing too great, though.

Jun 6, 2006 Very dark color with nice lacing. Taste like chocolatey coffee. Bittery aftertaste but drink a few and you don’t notice.
