Tan head that doesn’t really linger. Tastes toasty with some espresso flavor. Hops are present without overpowering the malts. billb (237), Kennesaw, Georgia, USA

Picked this up at the store and liked the fact that it was an oatmeal stout. Definite coffee and chocolate aroma with an overtone of alcohol. It is quite thick, yet the carbonation persists through the thickness. This adversely affects some of the flavor of big brews like this one, although nothing to grip about too much. The finish is much like the aroma, coffee and chocolate up front, alcohol on the back. Deep black color with a nice tan head. Slight chocolate taste with a strong oatmeal after taste. Not as think as some other Imperials, but definitely a solid brew. Pour of deep dark black, with a ruby glint and a head of tan. Flavor of long lasting chocolate wafers and a little bit of smoked salt. It has some decent body, but to me lacks a lot of character. I didn’t know this was an Imperial Stout when I had it. Seems a little thin. But, in the back there’s noticable alcohol that perks things up. Possible re-rate. Hoss (602), Florida, USA
