Commercial Description:
This unique ale merges the smooth and complex richness of an Oatmeal Stout with the assertive hoppiness of Imperial Stout. Fat Dog has an inviting silky-black color, a prominent roasted malt character, and a chocolatey, coffee-like finish.

Bottle Pours a nice black with a good tan head. The head is lasting and laces excellently. Has a good aroma of roast, some bitters, dark chocolate, coffee, just a good smelling stout. Has a good carbonation. The flavor is good. Well blended. Alcohol is hidden well. The flavors really dance across the tastebuds. Has a slick texture. A medium to full body. The finish is strong with a plesasing aftertaste. Not the heartiest but very good.

Pours out a dark brown with a light caramel colored head. Aroma has notes of coffee and malt with a slightly toasty nature. Slightly carbonated mouth feel that quickly dissipates. Thick and malty with some caramel and coffee notes. Toasted malt is also apparent in the flavor. Overall a nice thick, malty beer with quite a bit of toasty character.

Bottle from friend. Dark chocolate sparkling brown body with small fizzy tan/brown head. Aromas of licorice, hops. Smooth, whole milk mouthfeel. Tobacco, milk chocolate, licorice and expresso notes. Wonderful beer.

Bottle, big thanks to keepersj12. Poured pretty much jet black with a thick n good sized brown head. Quite a whiff of booze in the nose with bold roasted malt and oatmeal notes. Flavour was relatively sweet and again displayed a big roasted profile, with notes of vanilla, wood, coffee and alcohol. Quite an oily feel to it. Very enjoyable stuff.

From a 12 oz bottle this Stout pours a jet black with a thin brown head -an oily appearance. Great aroma of dark fruit, roasted coffee, oats and chocolate. The flavor is malty, sweet, brown sugar, toffee and roasted coffee to start and some hoppiness toward the back end. Has the nice thick mouthfeel one would expect for this style. This was a a beautiful brew.

A: This one pours with a large tan head that quickly fades to just a small ring around the glass. It is dark a night and leaves some nice lacing behind as it disappears. S: Fresh roasted coffee spiked with bitter chocolate. You can really smell the malt in this one. T: Very nice taste. There is the coffee and chocolate up front, which fades away to a nice boozy kind of finish. I like this it’s a boozy tasting stout. M: This stout is medium to thick..

Aroma and appearance are both what you might expect, but the flavor is a pleasant surprise. Rich coffee and chocolate tones make their way through this beer which is good enough to have for dessert on its own. High % abv is non-apparent, as the flavors mask it in a superbly smooth and pleasant aftertaste.
