| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Oct 15, 2009 12 oz bottle, shared with my bro, 2007 bottling - poured a deep brown with ruby at the edges and bottom. Decent head retention. Aroma is a strange but not unpleasant mix of milk chocolate and alcohol. Taste is chocolate and vanilla, there’s the alcohol again, not harsh, and some green hop i the finish. Not hugely well-integrated, and the parts at times pull at each other rather than mesh. Still, a very good beer.

Poured pretty much jet black with a thick n good sized brown head. Quite a whiff of booze in the nose with bold roasted malt and oatmeal notes. Flavour was relatively sweet and again displayed a big roasted profile, with notes of vanilla, wood, coffee and alcohol. Quite an oily feel to it. Very enjoyable stuff.

Great aroma of dark fruit, roasted coffee, oats and chocolate. The flavor is malty, sweet, brown sugar, toffee and roasted coffee to start and some hoppiness toward the back end. Has the nice thick mouthfeel one would expect for this style. This was a a beautiful brew. AmEricanbrew (1976), orange, California, USA

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Dec 10, 2009 A: This one pours with a large tan head that quickly fades to just a small ring around the glass. It is dark a night and leaves some nice lacing behind as it disappears.
S: Fresh roasted coffee spiked with bitter chocolate. You can really smell the malt in this one.
T: Very nice taste. There is the coffee and chocolate up front, which fades away to a nice boozy kind of finish. I like this it’s a boozy tasting stout.
M: This stout is medium to thick..

Rich coffee and chocolate tones make their way through this beer which is good enough to have for dessert on its own. High % abv is non-apparent, as the flavors mask it in a superbly smooth and pleasant aftertaste. BillKismet (1956), Seattle, Washington, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Nov 28, 2009 Dark black body with a diffuse chocolate cream head. Mild roasty nose, though it takes some coaxing. Sweet chocolate body, borderline cloying, with perhaps hints of lactose. Sugar chocolate flavor. The ABV% is surprising as this strikes me as more of a sweet stout than an imperial stout. savnac (453), Palmer, Alaska, USA

This is a very nice, easy drinking Impy Stout.
