CapFlu (3273), Victoria, British Columbia, Canada Feb 11, 2006 (Bottle) Purchased at Beers of the World in Rochester, NY. When I think of the perfect oatmeal stout - this must be it! Is got the same thick, complex texture and flavour of McAuslan’s yet it is compounded by more chocolate, more coffee, more molasses and more life. The aroma leads into the hefty sweet stout flavour yet doesn’t expose the multitude of dimension and joy. I wish I had bought a 24 of this beer!
ucusty (1016), Wake Forest, North Carolina, USA Aug 28, 2008 Bottles from case & keg in Boca Raton & grape & gourmet in Va Beach. Dark brown pour with a khaki colored head. One thick ring of lace at the top of the glass. Roasted malt aroma. Medium bodied. Chocolate, coffee, roasted malts, and an oaky finish GMUcrew7 (178), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA Aug 15, 2008 Pours dark brown with small tan head. Rich full roasted chocolate and coffee aromas. More complex flavor, with hints of vanilla and dark fruits joining the chocolate and roasted coffee as well as a nice amount of bitterness from the hops. A little light bodied, but a pretty good beer. tarc (47), New Jersey, USA Aug 13, 2008 Pours dark amber little tan head, good malt head. Rich malt flavor. The finish of those first sips seemed better than those near the bottom of the bottle. DrDavid (157), , Vermont, USA Aug 12, 2008 (Bottle). Rich roasted malt aroma. Black with dark tan head. Really nice flavor of chocolate, caramel, roasted malt, with some bitterness. Enjoyable. NoiZe (893), Zeist, Netherlands Aug 11, 2008 Tasted @ the Toronado.in SF.
