| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jan 27, 2004 This beer pours a black color with a moderately sized tan head and leaves very little lacing on the glass. The aroma isn't very strong, but there is some chocolate, coffee, and malt in there. The flavor was very common for a stout - chocolate with coffee and dark malts, but had a small bit of hops too. Pretty good stout.

| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jan 25, 2004 Pours a two-fingered light brown cream head that goes quickly and leaves little lace. Black as ink. Light-medium carbonation. Malty, chocolately nose. Heavy bodied. Starts and finishes with a chocolate taste. Smooth, easy beer. $6.00 for a 765ml bottle (yes I thought this was a 750 but the math says otherwise). Terminus (1955), Las Cruces, New Mexico, USA

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jan 4, 2004 This is a very respectable Stout though I would prefer to categorize it as a potent Stout rather than a weak Imperial Stout. It falls somewhere in between actually. Nothing out of balance here, all the expected Stout attributes are here - roasty, chocolatey, touch of sweetness. Just a little shy of an Imperial, but a good Stout. muzzlehatch (4427), Burlington, Vermont, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jan 1, 2004 Draft, at the Independence "Brewpub" at the Philadelphia International Airport. Can't say I've loved the samples of Stoudts and Yards I've tried at this smoky airport oasis over the last couple of years, but I'm grateful for the opportunity as I can't get them in VT or IL/WI. Faint bitter coffee nose on this guy, milky/silky body, candied fruits in the flavor (brandied pears & dates) dark chocolaty, oily finish. Not really very "imperial" in character, but it probably deserves better than the plastic cup it came in. Got this puppy free 'cuz the line was clogged and it poured so slowly. Not worth potentially missing a flight over. YourDarkLord (1800), Urbana, Illinois, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 31, 2003 Body was opaque black with reddish tints. Tan head didn't last long. Some chocolate and nuts to the aroma and a nice sweet and creamy taste. Not bad. Dickinsonbeer (3500), Hoboken, New Jersey, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Dec 27, 2003 Pretty low in alcohol to be an imperial stout. Black color with some amber highlights which get through. Lots of roated and chocolate malts with slight hoppiness. Very smooth and sweet which makes it easy to drink. A great stout, just not the best imperial stout.
