The pour is very dark, with more head than a dozen Bangkok whores. Tons of lacing all the way down the pint. Great malt flavor with hints of light coffee, molasses, and almonds. Not as rich as other imperials I've had, and the secondary fermentation seems to be lacking a bit. It took me two years to find this one in a bottle, but it was worth it. | 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Mar 27, 2004 Another imperial stout that dissapoints, way to light for me. The flavors do not explode in your mouth, just to tame for what an Imperial Stout should have. warrior (213), Mt. Wolf, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Mar 19, 2004 Good roasted malt aroma, dark black color with a full light brown head. Good roasted malt flavor but a little drier than I was expecting from an Imperial Stout. Very good stout but kind of light for an Imperial. haddon90 (1036), Alexandria, Virginia, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Mar 7, 2004 Deep black po with a frothy tan head. Nice aroma, full of roasted maple, coffee, and some chocolate. Nice smoked taste. Some roasted malt, kind of bitter. Very well made though. A nice Stout indeed. | 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Mar 7, 2004 Weak entry as an imperial stout. Dark brown black pour fluffed tan head leaves fast. Roasty with maple and some smoke aromas. Coffee and chocolate, spicey clove. Balancing act with bitter and sweet. Thinner body than most in the style. Nice stout overall. | 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Mar 5, 2004 Mild coffee aroma, chocolate and some chicory too. Deep brown, a trace of red at the edge, small cappuccino head. Marvellous flavour of mild coffee at first, followed by hints of dried fruit. Light bodied for the style, and the bitterness seemed to fade away? Very nice beer.

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Mar 3, 2004 Dark brown in colour. Aroma was roasty, coffee beans, toffee. Flavour of dark chocolate, mild coffee, slightly sweet, medium body. Finishes with a medium bitterness, slightly sweet. Light for an imperial stout but still quite good. | 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Mar 2, 2004 Very dark brown. Aroma shows oats, raisins, prunes, some burnt toffee notes. Light espresso and toast palate. Slightly sweet, slightly vinous. Interestingly unroasty (oatmeal porter?). Well-made, distinctive.
