| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Sep 5, 2007 12 oz bottle. Pours a bright marigold yellow, completely clear, under a fizzy foamy white head. Quite a bit of heavy clingy lacing. Aroma is quite clean, pale doughy malts with a light crackery note. A very minimal hop accent. The flavor is crusty bready maltiness with a little too much chewy doughyness on the finish. Moderate bitterness mid-swallow with some sweetness on the finish. Mouthfeel is a little lacking in crispness with all the globby doughy malt. Carbonation is quite fizzy and prickly. Overall, this was OK, but not the standout that I remember from long ago. | 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Sep 4, 2007 Appearance: Pours a lightly hazy, bright yellow body with a fine, pillowy white head.
Smell: Sweet-smelling, grainy pale malt aroma with a bright floral hop presence.
Taste: Sweet, grainy flavor with more floral, soapy hops and a light touch of yeast. The finish has a mild snap of hops, but it still finishes sweet.
Mouthfeel: Just barely medium-bodied. Moderate carbonation.
Drinkability: Not bad for a soft, sweet lager. MrBunn (1561), Western, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Aug 3, 2007 Bottle. Colored a pale golden... one finger foamy head. Aromas are sweet malt and some light grass. Flavor is fairly similar. Malt body is bold, sweet and grainy. Somehow it seems like this has a higher ABV than 5%, but I’m not sure why... maybe the heavy body with the sweetness??? Homebrewerguy (285), Oil City, Pennsylvania, USA

A bit of a wet buttery nose, along with the obligatory cereal grains and biscuit scents. Wet, oily, slippery texture, flavors of creamed corn, cereal grains and buttered bread. muzzlehatch (4427), Burlington, Vermont, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jul 3, 2007 Sample from 12 ounce bottle at the Mondial, Montreal (May 2007). Bright gold with quite a bit of head retained, some fine lacing....very, very frash grassy-sharp aroma, lightly perfumy and floral, pungent with earthy noble hops....beautifully constructed grainy-malty body, compulsively drinkable, with just enough sharp pungent hops at the finish to give it the perfect dry, sharp bite....an excellent helles, comparable to the great Montreal examples also on display at this Mondial.
