Wonderful full flavor of malts and hops entertwined, neither overpowering the other. Nothing dull or weak. Touch of subtle, toasted grain (oats and rye?) in the finish. One of the best helles I’ve ever had. TAR (2097), Boulder Co., Colorado, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | Jul 10, 2004 Pale gold. Thick, pasty bright-white head with slowly-forming rocks. Lightly airy aroma richened with toasted pale malts and juicy hops. Subdued graham, mineral, and perfume notes. Hint of dates and honey come out as it warms. Fuzzily soft carbonation. Struts its remarkable balance right off with rich toasted malt flavors interwoven with honeyed biscuits and some hop spice. Hint of acidity lessens the sweetness and deepens the brew. Hop spice slowly wanes into a softer, juicier texture and is continually softened by the pillowy malts and fluffy body. Finishes appetizingly dry, yet with perpetually thick malt flavors, along with coarse mineral aspecta underlain with delicately juicy hops and caramel-glazed malt hulls. Very true to style with plenty of dryness to highlight the perfumey elements. Not to mention the masterfully-extracted deep malt flavors. Just awesome. motelpogo (4399), Plzen, Czech Republic

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jun 18, 2004 What a tasty beer. Sparkling golden color, light white head. Vibrant malty aroma, honey, plums. Sweet malty goodness. If I have any complaints, it’s the slightly overly sweet and sticky finish. Smoother than velvet, silky, perfectly carbonated (certain other popular American lagers should take note). Up there with Great Lakes. Delicious. jeffc666 (1898), Fairfax, Virginia, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | May 26, 2004 Amber body very small and very quickly dissapating off-white head. Big sweet malt aroma. The flavor is fruity and sweet with a decent allotment of hoppiness. Body is medium and actually kind of sticky. Not too shabby. Yankovitch333 (612), Chesapeake City, Maryland, USA

Bread crust, mild citrus, fruit, and lightly toasted malt on the tongue. For the style this was a pretty good beer. Very refreshing. DocLock (4648), Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA

Fruity and floral aroma with a whisper of orange blossom honey. The flavor is decently balanced, but the malt wins out... rich and vibrant with notes of butterscotch. Medium-bodied with a watery mouthfeel and fizzy carbonation. Short, crisp, clean finish.
