Taste is mildly hopped and has hints of lager yeast and bread. Finish is dry and has some notes of grass. Not bad,, but not my thing. 5000 (2409), Hardened Liver, Washington, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Jan 1, 2008 Bottle: Pale straw in color, very minor haze, moderate to large foamy white head, spotty lacing.   Soft nose of overcooked
vegetables and cardboard.   Not a way to start out a Helles.   Otherwise some straw/hay, perhaps a bit dusty.   Flavor yields a
little less of the overcooked vegetables I got on the nose, but its there.   Perhaps its past its prime by a bit.   Quick finish,
grassy on the exit, some straw and hay.   Tiz fairly clean, even if it has passed.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate.   I bet
fresh this would be halfway decent.   Luckily I have a 2nd bottle to sample.   Thanks to Eugene and Brian for each
sending me one of these!

This beer pours a golden color and has a hoppy aroma but it is very mild. the beer is very fizzy and has a really watery finish to it. jde123 (715), Washington, Washington DC, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 2, 2007 One of the best lagers I have had recently. Speaking of lagers, I have been on a lager kick as of late, and so have a penchant for them. THis one is by far my favorite in the last month or so. pours golden, large white head, thick and rich mouthfeel, taste is somewhat sweet and hoppy. Enjoyable beer that I hope to purchase again. cheapdark (2017), Monacatootha, Pennsylvania, USA

Easy to enjoy with just a hint of bitterness in the background. Fairly smooth and well mannered. Probably a good session brew, light hearted and friendly. Does not stack up against Edmunton but IMHO is certainly better than Great Lakes Dortmunder Gold

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Nov 26, 2007 Poured a golden color with thin head and malty aroma. Nice flavor that was very smooth for a lager that was very refreshing and filling at the same time. Another good stoudts beer. beerbill (1954), Laurel, New York, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Nov 13, 2007 12 oz. bottle. Pours a clear gold with a moderate white head that disappeared before mid-glass. Light but pleasant aroma of bread, malt and very light hops. There was a stronger malt presence in the flavor with some light hops bitterness at the finish. A very solid lager.
