Picked up at State Line Liquor, a new one. Cloudy yellow with some good foam. Wheat aroma, a bit watery in mouthfeel, with a slight but well-malted down sourness. OK but nothing special to drink.

Initially yeasty - what was that. And a pour and a head! and the wheat and barley. Then the thin watery element made itself evident. Nice aroma. Altogether refreshing in summer, though not hwolly satisfying. Quaffable. Light cloves, suitable carbonation.

12oz bottle found in Maryland. Cloudy, glowing orange colored body with a white head. Nose of creamed bananas and sweet wheat, somewhat musty, full and enticing yeast presence in the aroma. Flavor is chunky, chewy wheat, smooth, fresh, heavy yeast presence, a lot of banana, cream, some green apple, etc. Nice for what it is but overall a bit simple.

20080704 12oz bottle Cloudy, plae golden color with creamy, sturdy white head and sheeting lace. Aroma is spicy, full of typical German hefe banana, clove, and some nuttiness to the grain. Medium palate, a bit prickly eff, and gumdrop clove astringency at the finish. Nicely done hefe that could rival most of the big German imports. Refreshingly fresh. Great label.

Draft: Poured a hazy yellow color with an aroma of yeast, spice, banana, and lemon. The flavor was good, tasting like a Hefe. I’ve had better as this one just didn’t stand out. Overall, tasty.

bottle. pale off yellow color, hazy. vigorous pour yields little to no head, some fizz that clears quick. aromas of mostly sweet bananas with some faint spicy notes. Flavor is mellow and even. Soft sweet fruity notes, a fair bit of spicy hop bite. Fizzy and active on the palate. Solid hefe.

Bright hazy gold, creamy white head. Banana clove esters with hints of nutty wheat. Citric wheat flavors ride light notes of banana and spice from start to finish. Light to medium bodied with fizzy carbonation. A decent rendition that’s nice on a hot summer day..

A slightly cloudy lemony color with a big, white dissipating head. A light lemon flavor and not as sweet as some other hefeweisens. Nice and dry on the finish. This seems like a lighter version of Hoegaarden. Excellent for summer.

Light yellow fuzzy pour. Crisp, light, and fruity. Not bad but something is missing. Might be an old batch. The citrus just lingers a bit to long.
