Bottle. Poured hazy amber with an average frothy white head that mostly lasted with fair lacing. Moderate spicy banana wheat aroma. Medium body with a sticky texture. Medium sweet citrus flavor with a medium sweet finish of average duration.

Light hazy yellow with a fluffy white head. Smells of cloves and spices. Nice kind of sparkle on the tounge from carbonation. Nice wheaty, spicy taste. Enjoyed very much.

Nice peach-yellow color with a lot of white head at first, mellowing to a thin layer. Aromas are the typical floral and banana/clove, though this brew also kind of smells like mesquite BBQ -- and I am not BBQing! Full, floral taste profile with dandelion, spices, and yellow fruit. Soft on the palate and quenching, with a growing clove and spice presence at the finish. Overall, a solid hefe and an interesting brew.

Classic German Hefe! Fresh straight from the brewer, it has a beautiful pour... yeasty-cloudy lemon wheat color with a nice head, great rentention and lacing. The nose is of classic clove, banana and slight lemon. Nice clove and lemon flavors initiate the pull, with a banana/bubblegum finish. The very end rounds out with a touch of clove. Perfect for the summer!!! This is a very nice offering of the style, and one of the better brews I’ve sampled from Stoudt’s.

(12oz bottle) Big off-white head atop a murky apple juice body. Aroma is medium sweet, clove, banana, bubblegum, wheat, light orange. Taste is medium sweet, banana cream, some clove, light bubblegum, faint lemon. Creamy medium body, much smoother and with a fuller body than most Hefes (though I’m not sure that’s what I want in a Hefe).

Re-rate, 7/07: Bumped up the flavor a point, pretty good stuff, nice stateside Hefe. My previous review description is pretty dead on, although the flavor was fuller this time around. Original rating: Poured a cloudy yellow color with a decent initial head (the best in my recent American takes on the style) and good lacing. The aroma was citrus and bananas. Flavor was a good balance of bananas and cloves, although as this thing warmed, the cloves took over and this thing started finishing with some zip, almost like it was a hops / phenolic combined whamo. Certainly not like an IPA or anything, but for the style it was a nice touch. Even a little pepper added to the clove-ness. Mouthfeel was light and the flavor could have been a little stronger to make it special.
