The aroma is sweet wheaty and yeasty, like rising bread, but also with light notes of banana. The flavor is sweet wheaty combined with notes of citrus, yeast, and banana - again the yeasty notes reminds me of rising bread. The end is slightly citrusy and with the wheaty notes lingering for quite some time. kp (8500), Woodstock, Georgia, USA

Wheaty and tart, with light banana and some musty yeast. Fairly simple, unexciting version. argo0 (6982), Washington DC, USA

Aroma is medium sweet, clove, banana, bubblegum, wheat, light orange. Taste is medium sweet, banana cream, some clove, light bubblegum, faint lemon. Creamy medium body, much smoother and with a fuller body than most Hefes (though I’m not sure that’s what I want in a Hefe). hopdog (5612), Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA

Poured a medium, cloudy/hazy golden color with a smaller white head. Aromas of bananas, spices, citrus and yeast. Tastes of bublegum, bananas, wheat, spices and ctirus. Lots of lacing left on the glass. Damn them for serving it with a wedge of lemon! jcwattsrugger (5573), Florida and, New Jersey, USA

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jun 6, 2005 Hazy golden hue, fading white head has a good white ring. Highly phenolic nose, banana ice cream like. Mild cloves sneak in, but I remain unimpressed by the depth of this example. Restrained acidity, a big banana juice with a creamy nature, sweet palate, mellow bitterness. Bready pancakes yeastiness shines for a second just before an almost smoky undertone captures your attention and the beer ceases to exist. Medium bodied, very light carbonation, soft palate. hopscotch (5528), Vero Beach, Florida, USA
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | May 5, 2005 Draft... Hazy, straw colored ale with a creamy, white head. Good retention. Plenty of the usual suspects (banana, clove, bubble gum) in the aroma. Well-balanced flavor with blasts of underripe banana and clove. More generously bittered than most traditional hefeweizens. Light-bodied and very watery with mild carbonation. Tart, desert-dry finish. Quality brew from a quality brewer, but I just can’t make myself appreciate this style of beer.
