Draft at the Grey Lodge in Philly. Nice beer. A little thin for me for a doppelbock. Nice honey flavor to it. Duh maybe because it's a honey bock. Anyway. Needed a little more malt character to it.

Strong alcohol nose. Some sharpness (more than expected) to moderate the sweet honey and caramel. Low carbonation after the initial pour. Thanks pabobcat!

A very good double bock, with hints of honey, strong malt, solid alcohol presence, and a smooth, malty, sweet finish.

Strong smell of honey. Taste is sweet with the honey once again very present. Creamy mouthfeel. Finish is hopless. Malts really dominate as it warms.

Deep orange/gold in color, decent head at first but doesn't last long. Not much in the nose.Silky smooth at first with an alcohol bite in the throat. Little or no hop aroma. Fruit up front, bitter in back.

Has a nice deep amber color with a sweet aroma. The flavor has sweet overtones, but does not have the body to support the sweetness. The finish is good with lingering sweetness as well. The mouthfeel is fairly thin for a Maibock, but decent.

Ok head but does not last long. Slightly fruity aroma along with the aroma of standing over a steeping mash pot. Yummy! Color is a murky orange. Flavor is a little bland for a dopplebock. Malty body with a little hops and a touch of honey for sweetness. Finish is a little filmy and weak again. Not what I expected but it hides the 7% ABV very well. An ok beer but there are much better dopplebocks out there.

Peachy aroma. Little head. Cloudy orange in color. Taste is sweet at the start and has a pastey finish. Not the best to come from stoudts.
