When I finally did, it was a clear deep copper color with a huge head. Aroma was a hoppy one with grapefruit notes. Mouthfeel not very pleasant due to the high carbonation, which also hindered the flavor. Seemed to have an even balance of hops and malt flavors. I'd like to re-rate this one with a better sample someday. Volgon (2489), Manchester, New Hampshire, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Dec 14, 2003 Deep orange/red color with a good tan head. Muted hops aroma. Ends bitter with a thick mouthfeel. Not as assertive as many IPA's. goz (359), Chelmsford, Massachusetts, USA

Pours slightly hazy deep copper/amber in color, with a large tan head that mostly lasts, leaving tons of lace. Aroma is slightly malty (caramel), with a huge citrus and pine hop presence in there. Flavor is a good bit of caramel, with a very strong hoppy finish. Medium-full bodied, extremely tasty and immensely enjoyable. sloth (1673), Ceciltucky, Co., Maryland, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Dec 7, 2003 Very large, tan, lasting head, probably a bit too much. Clear deep amber color. Citrus notes in the nose but they are masked by a heavy blanket of co2. Medium body with a prickly mouthfeel. Malty, fruity flavors, co2 showing up here also. Finish is medium sweet with a decent hop bite. It took me several pours to finish this bottle. Just waaay overcarbonated. Dont believe it was infected or anything, just really overcarbonated. pobenohne (504), Northern Liberties, Pennsylvania, USA

Big in your nose aroma of hops (cascade? columbus or liberty?) Somewhat sweet aftertaste, maybe a bit cloying, kind of syrupy. Beautiful straight up IPA. MrDick (277), San Francisco, California, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Nov 12, 2003 Definitely different from the IPA's that I'm used to drinking from Stone and Speakeasy. It lacks the strong hops that give those IPA's the kick. Still a nice IPA - malt flavor with hints of bitterness and slight citrus spices. egajdzis (3625), Spring Mount, Pennsylvania, USA

Mild, citrus hop aroma. Sweet hoppy flavor, slightly cloying sweet flavor/mouthfeel. Its worked well for this brew however. Y2K bottle sampled 1/28/05... Aroma and appearance were still nice for a 5 yr old IPA. However taste had become sweet and sour, the Y2K bottles are no good anymore. bender (293), Reynoldsburg, Ohio, USA

Red-orange body with a thick, light tan head. A little lacing.
Nice malty aroma. Somewhat fruity with a subdued hop aroma.
Sweet hops, very fresh tasting. Malt that backs up the hops but in no way oversteps the hops. Alcohol is hidden. What I would expect from a true IPA.
Full bodied with a prickly mouthfeel.
