| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jun 10, 2003 (765ml bottle): Copper body topped by medium beige head that persists. Aroma is strong -- grapefruit, pine, sticky-sweet, malt (caramel/toffee), and alcohol. Taste is minimal up front, before the hops kick in -- big pine/grapefruit, sticky sweet, malty (caramel/toffee), finishing bitter (grapefruit/floral) and sweet. Big full body. Interesting cross between an American and English IPA -- the hops say American, but the malts say English. Effect is "light" barleywinish.
