I will remember this day right up there with my wedding day, the birth of my son, my graduation from Penn State, and my first piece of ass. Pours a great turbid orange/light brown color with great head and super lacing. Great aroma of citrus, strong hops, florals, and fruit. Tastes extremely hoppy, with a firm malt base. Overtones of hops, malt, grapefruit, lemon, honey, white grapes, chardonnay, and brown sugar. This reminds me somewhat of the Dogfish 90 minute, but it is amazingly well balanced. It isn't the hoppiest, or the maltiest, or the fruitiest, or the most citrusy, but rather it is the sum of the parts that make this beer perfect for its style, in my opinion. Finishes very smooth with a hoppy, malty, fruity, floral blast on the palate at the end. Well hidden alcohol, but somewhat thick on the palate (not a bad thing here), very firm, dense, and solid. Superb. I call this one "The Elixir of the Gods". Just like Sherlock Holmes said, "When you remove the impossible, whatever is left, however improbable, must be the truth". I checked and rechecked every subcategory, and cannot in good conscience deduct any points from this one. My truth is that this is a 5.0. My only complaint is that I laid one down, and after 6 months to a year, I can't very well go above 5.0. Oh well, I'll cross that bridge when I get to it. My compliments to Carol Stoudt for this one. Keep kicking ass and taking names, Carol. Cheers. obxdude10 (1557), Pottstown, Pennsylvania, USA

The aroma is unbelievable...with this hop aroma that will knock your socks off. The flavor tops it off with a lot of hops, which is married to a nice portion of malt. This is a great beverage, although it is a little expensive. You get what you pay for in this beer! chronictonic (403), Wyndmoor, Pennsylvania, USA

Medium to dark copper red in color. Excellent malt flavor predominates the tasting experience. Wonderful hop flavor, but not really bitter - just juicy and fruity. I was so anctious, I had to drink it. I am mad to hear that it ages well. Oh well, i’ll just pretend I didn’t hear that. Deep orange hues with fluffy, sticky head. Piney aroma with mouth numbing hops in the kettle. A fantastic IPA.
