Aromas of sugary-sweet malt, fairly strong with a latent berry note. Caramelly malt body with hints of raisins. Spicy end, turning to an artificial chemical flavor, unfortunately. Thin texture, but pretty big taste. A good showing for Stoudts but overall not that thrilling. hopscotch (5540), Vero Beach, Florida, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Oct 5, 2005 Bottle… Clear, amber lager with a mid-sized, frothy, off-white head. Great retention. Acetic, malty aroma with notes of caramel, soft buttermilk and black tea. Well-balanced flavor with lots of caramel and tea. Medium-bodied with a creamy mouthfeel and stale carbonation. Finishes thin and dry. Earlier Rating: 9/19/2003 Total Score: 3.3 Tasted at Eric & Wendy’s "Go to Hell, Isabel" Party 2003.
Crystal clear, copper colored lager. Quickly and entirely dissipating
head. The nose is of butterscotch, toffee, leather and light beechwood smoke. A touch fruity as well.
The flavor is very nice and malty, but a bit unbalanced. True to the style. Some honey notes. Medium-bodied with a silky mouthfeel and fizzy carbonation.
Lengthy, astringent, dry finish with hints of maple syrup and hay. Walt (2289), Chicago, Illinois, USA

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 14/20 | Oct 1, 2005 Clear and amber with no head at all and no lacing. Very bready aromas, yeast and crust. Some clove and orange on the nose, too. Odd, becuase the flavor is quite lemony up front, not much of a hop presence. Faint malts gather at the end for a caramel, light coffee finish. The finish is quite full and interesting, with good weight, but the front end of the beer is disappointingly light and watery. TomDecapolis (3213), Skippack, Pennsylvania, USA

From a bottle has a dark golden, copper color and very clean appearance. A little toasty caramel (not sweet), notes of pumpkin with a little bitter hop finish. Crisp and refreshing, overall good beer. goldtwins (4084), Nesconset, New York, USA

| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Sep 23, 2005 aroma is nice - appearance is good for it’s style. it’s not a sweet beer which is what I like about - it finishes slightly bitter and on the dry side - the onnly bad thing about this is that it’s a little watery - could be ’heavier’
