| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Nov 26, 2007 12 Oz Bottle. Light meaty caramel aroma. Bits of DMS. Not strong. Pours a rather pale amber gold, with a fading whitish head. Flavor is a generic sweetness, with subdued Munich, warmed honey, and candied orange. Backs out with a delectable leafy hop melange and sausage spices over Orange Blossom honey drizzled over simmered pears. All weighted down. Meh. alexsdad06 (1082), Ohio, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Nov 17, 2007 12 oz. bottle. Pours a crystal clear golden amber color with a medium sized yellow/beige head that diminishes quickly. The aroma is caramel malt, lemon citrus, and some bread dough. The flavor was sweet caramel malt, bread, citrus, and overall fairly bitter. The hops were noticeable. There is also a touch of metal as you approach the finish. Medium bodied. Overall, just average. | 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Nov 14, 2007 12oz bottle. The last of my Ofest stash for the year I think. Golden body with an orange hue, small off white head. Head is about 1 finger thick and fully diminishing. Does leave some nice lacing once it does recede. Nose of slightly skunked hops, sweet caramel malts, honey and lemons. Also get some other citrus notes in there as well, but not as defined as the lemon. Fore is bitter hops, fruity esters, caramel, honey and sweet malts. Some slight grain as well. Back of the tongue is sweet, folding into a bittersweet finish that is pretty lengthy. Get some faint aspirin or metallic notes at the very bitter end of the finish. Heavy carbonation. Sticky palate, light bodied, appropriate to style and not detracting or watery. Medium to heavy astringency. I like my Märzens a little less sweet than normal, and this fits the bill in that regard. Otherwise nothing too special. Tessic (457), Brantford, Ontario, Canada
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Oct 25, 2007 This marzen poured a light copper colour with little off white head. To the nose you couldn’t smell much other than dough and sweet malt, maybe a little caramel. The flavour is biting at first with a slight overcarbonation. Smooths out to a hoppy flavour and turns a little bitter for the finish. Pallet is nice with a light hop/ malt flavour. Speedle (262), Mid-Atlantic (Tour 2007-2008), Virginia, USA
