Wet malt plods as my footsteps down Arlington St. A crisp waft of lemoncello and hop gardens rises from the T tunnel. A lazy afternoon sun dapples the pillowy white high-pressure clouds above. It’s a crystal clear day and the con-trails grace the high atmosphere, distracting my left brain. A cool sensation develops. The salt air from the Gulf of Maine parches my lips and tongue and I thrist for more the salty, grain sugars that quench me. The townspeople move about, but life is pretty simple. A faint cloud of alcohol materializes as I breather deeper. The smooth, calm restraint of my demeanor guides a gentle sweetness to succor my demands. This day is so fresh and clean. I drink it in quickly and before I know it the sun has set and I’m left standing at the State House, satiated. The day lingers on my mind, leaving a bright, parching earthy kiss of plants. Delicious. Aroma is slightly fruity, wheaty, and grassy. The taste is slightly sweet and malty with citrus notes and a crisp, clean, hoppy finish. While it’s not going to blow you away there is quite a bit of flavor in there, especially for the style. Very well balanced. Easy drinking and refreshing.
