Commercial Description:
The driest and most delicate of our lagers. Stoudt’s Pils is characteristic of the traditional European Pilseners. Straw-yellow and assertively hopped with Saaz hops, this frequent medal winner has a refreshing bitterness and refined hop aroma.

Nice hop aroma for this pale yellow pilsener. Smooth taste at first with a nice bitter end. Excellent and refreshing!

Pours clear yellow with big white head. Light grassy aroma. Sweet malt flavor to start and finishes crisp, bitter and hoppy. Light body with lively carbonation. Very refreshing.

Now this is a beer I can enjoy. It tastes like a real beer. Lots of bitterness and a great nose. Very nice. A real man’s beer!

(Bottle (best by 4/7/08) from <A HREF=http://www.ratebeer.com/Place/massachusetts/w target=blank>Julio’s Liquors) Pours clear pale yellow with a tall somewhat frothy white head that settles to a meringue-like rocky cap. Aroma shows a little bit of honey and some pine. Mouthfeel is smooth and lightly dryish toward finish. Lots of droopy patches and specks of lacing. Flavor is lightly honeyish malt sweetness with a pronounced light-medium piney bitterness that gives some bite and leaves a bit of a lingering bitter aftertaste. Tasty enough as it is and bet it would be really nice on tap with some yeasty freshness.

Pours straw color followed with the nice fresh smell of straw. Fluffy white head quicky evaporates leaving a nice lace on the glass. Solid taste from start to finish, the way a pilsner should be!

12-oz bottle received via trade with jayg. Pours light yellow with a small, frothy, white head, somewhat lasting with fair lacing. Aroma is heavy malt (grain, hay, meal), light hops (grass), average yeast (sweat) with notes of lightly buttered corn. Light bodied, creamy texture, lively carbonation, and a chalky finish. Average duration, light sweetness, acidity, and bitterness.

Sampled on draft, decent Pilsner with the Saaz-citrus twang, golden body and a lace of foam throughout the sample. Decent offering from Stoudt’s and one I don’t see on draft often in the Philadelphia area.

12 oz bottle...golden body with a slightly off-white head...delicate lacing....citrusy aroma with some herbal earthy notes....crisp with nice mellow bitterness...light citrusy notes, especially in the finish (lemon)....a hint of sweet in the mid-palate...a good German pilsner..easy to drink
