Commercial Description:
The driest and most delicate of our lagers. Stoudt’s Pils is characteristic of the traditional European Pilseners. Straw-yellow and assertively hopped with Saaz hops, this frequent medal winner has a refreshing bitterness and refined hop aroma.

Brown 12 oz bottle. Smells and pours surprisingly like a hefe, slightly pale yellow with an aroma of yeast and teeny citrus. Primordial flavor of a hefe, but that rapidly yeilds to an impact of hoppy bitterness. This beer has some of that IPA bite on the back of the throat and uvula. Pungent finish lasts for a few minutes. I think IPA dudes will like this, but IPA is not my style. This is somewhat like Pilsner Urquell but less refined.

Sampled with Beerdrenched. Pours light pale yellow with a good sized fizzy white head. The aroma is perfumy wtih light graininess and floral qualities. Medium / light body with a good amount of sharp carbonation. Taste starts with grainy malt and light sweetness. The finish has some spiciness from hops as well as some grassiness. Good pils, but this would probably be even better fresher.

Straw colored with a white head. Bready aroma. A great german pilsner that had a dry malty flavor and a crisp bitter flavor and finish. A bit heavier than most Pilsners. Excellent.

12 oz bottle via Degarth (thanks!). Best before 10/18/06, so we are a couple weeks late. Pours a hazy golden blonde with an average size bubbly white head. Wonderful aroma with note of pear, bananna, wheat, peaches, and lager yeast. Taste is the same and add a liberal amount of hops that overshadow everything else. Hoppiest Pilsner i have ever tasted. Actually has a pretty bitter finish. Not what i was expecting...but still good. This seems like a cross netween an IPA and a Pilsner..Medium body. Crisp dry finish. Lingering bitter aftertaste...

From a 12 oz. long neck bottle with a best before date on neck of bottle, 11.01.06, served in a Capital pilsener glass. Poured a bright pilsener golden with a frothy, rocky, foamy white head that slowly settled into a thin sudsy lacing. Aromas of Saaz hops, spicy and herbal, and sweet honey grainy malts. Good carbonation and a crisp, dry, velvety smooth light bodied mouthfeel. A very tasting pilsener, dry in both hops and malts, a tasting herbal spiciness, cleansing in the palate, matched well with honey sweet pilsener malts, a barley graininess, and a dry malty finish with a little grassiness lingering in the palate. A highly quaffable pilsener from Stoudt’s, tasty and balanced, if you like pilseners, then this is a must try.
