Commercial Description:
The driest and most delicate of our lagers. Stoudt’s Pils is characteristic of the traditional European Pilseners. Straw-yellow and assertively hopped with Saaz hops, this frequent medal winner has a refreshing bitterness and refined hop aroma.

Lots of pleasing bitterness from start to finish. Fine color and body, but little aroma.

Color is like red bull, a very bright yellow with a thin white head. Aroma is malty, with a bit of citrus, smells crisp. Taste has a nice hop background with the forefront being light malts with the saaz hops still showing a bit. Very nice pilsener.

Pours a light yellowish color with a thick white foamy head. Aroma is of bitter barley, yeast and hops. Taste is pleasantly bitter with hints of fresh yeast and barley. A nice summer beer.

12oz. bottle: This one pours a clear, straw yellow color with a bit of a head on it. It dropss off rather quickly to leave some lacing. The aroma is nice, with notes of malts, citrus and floral notes. Definitely a bit of bitterness to the taste. A medium malt body backing ot up. A somewhat dry finish. Not a bad pils at all.

12 oz. bottle from Shoreline. Bottle dated best before 6/18/06. Drank on 8/3/06. Very clear, light yellow. Big creamy 2" white head. Drops pretty slowly. Decent sized layer of foam sticks around. Big lacing. Aroma - avg. strength. Definite sweetness and some noble hop spice. Kind of a classic pilsner type aroma - a little yeast character. Flavor - Fairly sharp up front bitterness. Pretty high carb on the tongue seems to mask some of the flavor. Not a ton of flavor, but some decent pilsner character. Some sweetness in the finish. Fairly dry finish. Palate - very light, fairly high carb. Overall - good pilsner. Decent character, nice clean taste. Carg is too high though and masks some of the flavor. Good, but not all that interesting. Could be a refreshing lawnmower beer, but not nearly as good as Blue Paddle.

Bottle via The_Epeeist. The beer pours to a clean golden body. A tall white head sits atop. EXCELLENT lacing is left in my pilsner glass. The aroma is fairly traditional. Spicy grass and dry floral hops with simple pale malts. The flavor is grassy floral hops with pale malts. Crackery aftertaste. A pretty decent German Pils. Nice velvety feeling palate. Doesn’t feel watery at all.

Bottle. Clear pale gold with a puffy white head, mostly diminishing. Aroma of lemony hops, light malt, grass, straw, with a bit of pollen. Flavor was bright malt and those lemony-lime hops, mild hop bitterness with some grass or parsley on the finish, but otherwise mostly dry. Smooth palate. Very drinkable. Pretty good pilsner--definitely holds its own with many imports.
