Commercial Description:
The driest and most delicate of our lagers. Stoudt’s Pils is characteristic of the traditional European Pilseners. Straw-yellow and assertively hopped with Saaz hops, this frequent medal winner has a refreshing bitterness and refined hop aroma.

A yellow beer with a thick white head. The aroma is sweet malty with hints of caramel. The flavor is nice with a good mix of malt and hops - my guess is Saaz, giving it light citurs notes, and a dry bitter end.

Slightly hazy straw colour. Herbal hop aroma (hay, dried thyme, maybe epazote). Dry, herbal and haylike on the palate. Very lean, not much malt. Good bitterness. Nicely done, solid north German stylings.

Lightly flavored, not impressed at all. not sure why I didn’t get the flavor others seemed to get.

(Bottle) Pours a clear pale yellow body with a thick white head and nice web-like lacing. Aroma of lemon, soapiness, grain, and grass. Flavor of grassy hops and malt.

On tap at the Lehigh Valley Brew Fest ’04. Poured a light hazy yellow with a small white head. Aroma and tastes of grass and lemons. Thin watery body. Another style that I’m not crazy about (as far as Pils go, this is fine, but for my tastes, a little weak).

12 oz bottle-pours a foamy white head that laces. Hazy straw/yellow with effervescence. Aroma is a lively floral nose, light malt. Taste is grain & tart with a bite, grapefruity. Nice, Bold & balance is tilted slightly to the tart side. Good carbonation. Best Before 1/24/06.

Clear very pale golden body is mounted by a light, but perseverant light white cover. Quite crystalline nose, very dry and seemingly astringent, hints at both the hay loaves field and the metallic instruments to work it. Spicy (in a earthy manner) and floral hops procures a lasting bitterness that kind of overshadows the shy malt. Prickly carbonation and thin body contribute to the slight metallic feel. It has a good base I guess, but while it doesn’t aim at Czech origins, I’d appreciate more malt roundness and toastiness to balance up those astringent and sharp hops. Thanks Hopscotch.

Bottle... Sparkling clear, straw-colored lager with a mid-sized, creamy, white head. Very good retention and excellent, thunderhead-like lacework. The nose is citrusy and floral with light notes of orange blossom honey and butterscotch. Decently-balanced flavor with good, crisp, saaz bitterness. Stoudts is never shy with their hops when the style calls for them. Light lemon. Medium-bodied with a lightly oily mouthfeel and fizzy carbonation. Medium-length, crisp, mildly bitter finish.
