12 oz. bottle. Pours a slightly hazy amber with a moderate off-white head that disappeared before mid-glass. Pleasant aroma of caramel malt and some hops. Flavor was initially malt, followed by some dry, astringent hops. The hops bitterness lingers for a bit after the swallow.

Tap at Hop Devil Grill: Amber pour with an average light tan head. The nose has some nutty, crystal malt hints and a mild, berryish, fruity hop presence. Decent creamy carbonation. there’s a nice English Ale yeast character which compliments the mild, berry-like fruity character. There’s also a hint of rubber detectable when it warms, yet it still has a nutty malt back and a solid bitter finish. Well crafted, decent ESB.

Bottle, at Papsoe’s place. Clear, copper pour, with a beige head. Tea (Fuggles?), malt, dried fruits and some piney hops in the aroma. Sweet, caramel flavor with piny hops. Medium to full body, and a hoppy finish. Almost barley wine like, but a bit thin for that. A nice beer, still there is a slightly ordinary touch to it, but hey, I like the beer. (071005)

On tap at Marathon in West Philly. Clear rusty brown with a light white, bubbly skin. Aroma of strawberry jam and dried figs. Taste is kind of a sour brown sugar with pithy drying; cardboard aftertaste. Very mild bittering.

Pours a nice clear ruby color with a decent white head. Mildly hoppy nose. Flavor is soft malt, very smooth with a dash of hop bitterness in the finish. very drinkable. A good session beer.
