I bought it at a specialty beer store for almost $9 / six pack. It is very good, but at this price, it better be! Very smooth. theshocker (329), Marietta, Georgia, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Dec 21, 2005 Deep amber with a soft head. Smells sweet, malty. Plenty of spicy english hop in the flavor. Finishes smooth, flavor fades quickly into a mildly sour aftertaste. Well-balanced, maybe a touch thin on the malt side. This is a decent beer, BUT this is the last time I’m paying $9+ for a 6-pack of Stoudt. I just don’t don’t think they are as good as their super-premium pricing. beerguy101 (3946), Newark, California, USA

Aroma is malty, biscuty and fruity. A medium bodied ESB. Malts are fruity and estery. Hops are floral and earthy. Nice balance. A touch watery and a little thin tasting. Mild flavor. Nice earthy finish. Mouthfeel is thin. Finish is earthy and crisp. Aftertaste is slightly bitter. whaleman (2171), North Wales, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Dec 8, 2005 Light amber body with a medium-sustaining dusty white head. Caramel and fruit malt notes in the nose plus spicy hops including a suggestion of nutmeg. Also a mild hard cheese quality in the hop profile. Decent malt presence and good balance with medium hop bitterness. Palate is mildly resinous and a bit fizzy. Not a bad American ESB. mkgrenwel (420), Cambridge, Massachusetts, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 10/20 | Nov 30, 2005 Cherry. Very little bitter. It’s as if you swallow and the beer disappears right where the bitterness should be hitting in the back of the mouth. Some maltiness. Smooth silky texture. Touches of citrus and piney hops. Difficult beer to rate, since it has some nice, smooth flavor and texture. However, the distinct lack of flavor at times is disturbing. Averages out to be a decent beer, but leaves me wanting something more.

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Nov 29, 2005 Poured a deeper amberish color with an averaged sized off white head. Lots of little floaters. Aromas of caramel, toffee, toasted malts and some oranges. Tastes of caramel, toasted malts, nuts and lighter oranges. Has a nice balance to it althought the body was a little on the thin side. BeerandBlues2 (3216), Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Nov 16, 2005 draft in Philly airport. Clear amber pour with thin off white head. Piney hop aroma. Malty, with a mild hop presence. Well balanced. Ture mouthfeel, but not as bitter or hoppy as I would have expected. Still, a decent beer to drink.
