Indra (1833), Prairie Village, Kansas, USA Aug 22, 2003 Vintage date Feb 29, 2000, 750ml bottle. Soft, flowery, sweet and estery aroma, with notes of pear, melon, tangerine and peach, faint clove and pepper as well. Quite a nice presentation in the glass, dark orange in color, opaque and sedimented, with an uneven, creamy head, leaving behind an intricate stipple pattern of lace. Malty flavor profile with plenty of yeast and floral sweetness, along with touches of honey, citrus fruit and spice. Alcohol becomes slowly apparent in the finish, which is otherwise fruity and sweet, almost tropical in character. Mouthfeel is creamy, suprisingly smooth and thin, but the slight effervescence and full body serve this beer well. Well-looked after for the duration of its aging process, still plenty of carbonation and character. Thanks to TAR.
nqualls (205), Tennessee, USA Sep 4, 2008 Poured a gold color into a tulip glass with a small off white head. Aroma of fruit, and spices (cloves and nutmeg?). Flavor was very spicy with a warming alcohol hint at the end. Good tripel. I wouldn’t proclaim is as great though. Geth_in_beer (671), Nova Scotia, Canada Aug 23, 2008 Bottle. Bitter, fresh spicy aroma. amber looking beer, very thin lace. fruity, hit with spice. Strong alcohol hit also. syrupy texture with a spicy finish. Little yeasty. Yeah. Not bad. Not my favourite style, but I’ve had better I feel. BeerGestapo (322), Windsor, Pennsylvania, USA Aug 21, 2008 (USA) Courtesy of AFI96, thanks Waylo !!! Pours a nice golden color with sm-white head. The aroma was hard to smell at first, but once it warmed up a bit it had some sweet candy notes. The taste was of spices and sugar !! Overall, it was a pretty good triple, and the 9% well hidden very well. afireinside96 (428), Mountville, Pennsylvania, USA Aug 20, 2008 Golden color liquid with a small but lasting white head. Smells of light spice, orange, candy. Tastes the same but with spice being more prominent. A bit too sweet, almost cloying. Still a very good beer. GMUcrew7 (183), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA Aug 15, 2008 Pours nice cloudy golden color with a small white head. Very fruity aroma, with hints of nutmeg, and cloves. Wide array of flavors, yeasty initially, followed by the spice and sweet fruit flavors and the alcohol is slightly noticeable at the finish. Full bodied with a dry finish. Not one of my favorite styles of beer, but this is a pretty good representation of the style.
