Copper in colour with a thin white head, light lacing. Aroma is slightly toasty, some light hops, caramel malts. Flavour has some toasted caramel malt sweetness, grassy hops, grains and herbal. Lightly sweet mouthfeel, medium/light body, mild carbonation. Finishes toasty, lingering.

Not bad, good drinkability. A nice session beer.

Draught at Volo in Toronto, Ontario.
Sampled on February 7, 2009.

On tap at Cloak and Dagger in Toronto, 07.12.09. Dark orange, off white head, Aroma is malty, Nilla wafers. Flavor is malty, doughy, on the sweeter side. I’m not a fan.

Draught at Volo. Dark golden-amber with a small white head. Mild, balanced aroma, with a very fresh character. Well-balanced flavour as well, with a nicely hopped finish. A very tasty and refreshing session ale.

[1243-20080401] Tap. Mild spiced grains aroma has a bit of leafy pine needles. Clear, orange amber body with a long-lasting creamy white head and thick white lacing. Slightly burnt toast charcoal malt flavour is lightly spiced throughout with a hint of evergreen. Medium-full body is a little rough. Average.

Served at the perfect temperature out front at Smokeless Joe’s on the first hot night of the year... talk about an advantage. Fairly creamy head on a copper ale with a decent amount of carbonation. Nice hop tang with a bit of toffee sweetness. Very nice.

On tap at Volo. Amber, decent sized white head. Mild aroma - malt, grain, some faint hops and sweetness. Taste is very refreshing and good - toasty malt, some faint hops, and grain. A solid session beer and way fresher (and similar to the Anchor Steam we get here. Thanks Stratford for adding something unique to the Ontario beer landscape! It may not be in your face or anything like that but it is well done and good.

Draught at Volo. Pours a clear amber with a lasting creamy white head -- looks good. Very mild aroma of caramel malt, light toastiness and toffee. Flavour of slightly toasty malt, light hops, grain and caramel. Decent light bitter finish. Medium bodied. It’s O.K., it’s somewhat simple but there’s nothing bad about it.
