Warm aroma of strong sweet malt, tobacco leaf, and a bit of smoke. Flavour is robust and malty, with a sufficiently hopped finish and a slightly drying booziness. Not too bad. mabel (2612), Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Murky, dark brown orange body with a medium-lasting creamy off-white head. Burnt yeasty corn flavour with boozy smoked grains and finishes like toasted bread. Medium-full body. Heavy and ok.

Another one that looked great, very ESB like - fiery hazy dark amber, good sized white head. Fruity hops and grain in aroma. Taste is good - some hops, malty - again, this is bordering on ESB territory and has nothing in common with, well common. But it was drinkable and decent. Everyone freakin’ loved this, it seems - I liked it enough, but it seemed to be all over the place and bears no resemblance to a ’’common.’’ Poured cloudy reddish with an average foamy head. Aromas of alcohol (oh yes), ’’dark’’ fruit malt and some floral bitterness. the taste is also alcoholic, bitter, with apricot-like malt, seemed a bit wheaty, and some dry resin bitterness in the tail Average body, weak carbonation, and a long boozy vaguely resin-bitter finish ... pretty solid, surprisingly malty. blankboy (3212), Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Pours a hazy dark copper with an average size somewhat-lasting off-white head. Aroma’s malty along with grain, alcohol and some fruit. Flavour’s the same: Malty with grain, fruit and alcohol. Light bitter finish. Average bodied. I personally don’t love it but it’s good and well done. jerc (3945), Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Alcoholic aroma, light herbal hops, dry malt. Flavour has a decent amount of bitterness, dry malt, light alcoholic undertones, bit warming as you go. Very mild dry fruit, malt. Smooth average plus palate. 7/3/7/3/15 - 3.5 Cask at Volo Cask Days Extended
<P>2008-10-17. Pretty hazy dark amber-orange body. Earthy aroma, almost a touch of tobacco like notes? Marijuana? Really? Sweetish flavour, light bitterness, touch of leafy vegetation and herbaceous touches. Smooth average plus palate. (3+) Okay, found it a bit odd overall though. 6/3/6/3/14 - 3.2 Cask @ Volo Cask Days 2008
