14th July 2008. Dark ale. More porter than stout. Very mildy toasted malt. Tangy sour fruit. Dry finish with light smoke. A light touch all round.

Bottled at RBESG 2007. A dark brown beer with a tan head. The aroma is sweet malty with strong notes of caramel. The flavor is sweet malty with strong notes of caramel, leading to a dry, roasted, and slightly bitter finish. The body is thin.

Bottle courtesy of Craig cgarvieuk Cheers mate! Poured dark brown verging on black with a nice tan head. Aroma was a great rush of chocolate with some malt. Nice roasted malt taste quite understated, some dryness, but very moreish, chocolate was there along with some elements of coffee, I really liked this little beauty.

Cask, Alloa BF 07. Dark ruby with a thin off-white head. Nose is meaty, slightly medicinal and gravy stock. Mouth is a big mouthful of gravy, stock-cubes, plummy winter tones. Very warming and thorough. Great.

Bottled (thanks cgarvieuk). Very deep ruby red colour/close to black with small beige head. Aroma is lots of spices along with hops and malts. Flavour is leather, malts, hops and some roasted malts. Also some smoked wood and slight herbs.
