Commercial Description:

In English: Beridaren ( 6.2%) is a light, Belgian style ale. We have brewed it with pilsner, vienna, and smoked malts. The hops are German and Czech. The yeast is Belgian and it is the smoked malt that gives this beer its special character. The man in the picture is Stig Petterson, horse-breaker at Strömsholm. The picture was taken in the ’50s, and yes, Grandfather stayed in the saddle.

Bottle@Home. Light sweet aroma with a hint of citrus and herbal/grassy hop notes. Pale yellow colour, white head, fair lace. Sweet, bitter, smoked, hint of citrus, hint of grass, light fruity. Medium body. No strong flavours yet exceptionally easy and nice.

Bottle. Golden color. Smoke, beechwood and pineapple in the aroma. Smoked ham, beechwood and pineapple in the somewhat flowery flavor. Pleasant fruity smoked beer.

Bottled. A hazy golden beer with an off-white head. The aroma has notes of malt, caramel, and some spices. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, over ripe fruits, and some weird spices, leading to a dry finish. Thanks yespr and fonefan for sharing.

Bottle 33 cl. Courtesy of yespr/fonefan. Slightly hazy golden with a neat white head. Aroma of fruit, yeast and phenols. Medium body, fruit, yeast and a solid smokiness. Hardly any bitteness. Bamberg smoke in a Belgian style ale, huh? 141109

Bottle, 5.6%. Almost no aroma, but perhaps a hint of smoke. Clear golden colour. Small stable white head. The flavour has a little smoke, quite faint. A bit of fireplace, perhaps smoked sausage. Hint of rubber feel in the finish.

A clear yellow/golden colored beer, with a thick foamy white head. The aroma of malts with fruits and a little spices. The taste is fresh malty some caramel with some spices. There is a nice bitterness with flavors of sweet. The aftertaste is bitter with some sweet.

Bottle from Bierkoning. Golden colour. Ham nose. Taste of malt, but lots of ham and smoke. Some bitter in the end with notes of cheese. Doesn’t work for me. Drainpour.
