Commercial Description:
Due to its authenticity, Earthmonk received as little sugar as possible during bottle conditioning in order to preserve all original aromas and flavours. This beer comes with little carbonation and a mini head. Is best served at cellar temperature and poured generously, meaning from a hight of approximately 15 to 20 CM, in an upright standing tulip glass. A big bubbled head will quickly make place for the Earthmonk coming alive! Bottle-conditioned in 33cl (5000 btls.) and 75cl (1000 btls.). At Struise, we never retire beers. At ratebeer, Beers are retired when a new batch is not bottled within 12 months. As Earthmonk takes 18 months to age on oak... we have to be patient.

Just a delicious sour bite backs up a very full body to match the delicious aroma for an all-around very tasty sour.

Bottle. Aroma has notes of fruity apples, pineapple, yeast, sweet malts and cherries. Dark brown hue with no head and no lace. Flavor is sweet, sour, and refreshing. Palate is medium bodied, soft and a little acidic. Very good but could be great with more sour flavors.

Pours a dark brown color with a reddish hue and zero carbonation. Aroma of balsamic vinegar, sweet cherries, plums and a little salt. Rich and sweet taste with wood and hints of chocolate.

Pours a dark ruby brown with the tiniest of heads. Grapes, brown sugar, dark fruit, vinegar. Sour, but a lingering sweetness. Thanks guys.

Aroma is nice. Figs, plums, brown sugar, some caramel malt.slightly vinous, somewhat tart. Flavor is interesting, we got some butterscotch, caramel sweetness, candi sugar, not particularly sour, but has a very rough finish. It burns the throat in a peculiar. I don’t think the sweet & sour works particularly well.. Once I added the yeast sediment it got more of a citric bite, which made it a little better.

Pours a dark brown. Aroma is quite sour and tart and woody. Flavor is annoyingly sweet though. It’s not bad, but it’s the sour is definitely thrown off by the sweetness. Finishes dry and sour and tasty. Not as amazing a sour as I was hoping though. Still a good beer by any means though.

Dark brown pour. Aroma of wine, vinegar, grapes. Flavor is similar, but an odd finish brings it down a notch. Somewhat metallic at the back end, but still very tasty. Solid mouthfeel for the style. Good beer.

[Bottle] generously gifted to me by ygtbsm94. Thanks Brad! Pours a clear caramel with ruby highlights and nearly flat, but a few soapy bubbles around the outside. Aroma is acetic, lots of sweet malts and fruity notes, and maybe a slight woodiness. Flavor is initially a little tart, but it fades as my palate adjusts. There is a hint of oxidation coming through as some sherry notes. There is a significant, slightly dry sweetness that gives it a very vinous character that I wasn’t expecting. A touch on the richer side, and little to no carbonation. Overall a really interesting beer and one that I would like to try again.
