Commercial Description:
Due to its authenticity, Earthmonk received as less sugar as possible during bottle conditioning in order to prevail all original aromas and flavours. This beer comes with little carbonation and a mini head. Is best served at cellar temperature and poured generously, meaning from a hight of approximately 15 to 20 CM, in an upright standing tulip glass. A big bubbled head will quickly make place for the Earthmonk coming alive! Bottle-conditioned in 33cl (5000 btls.) and 75cl (1000 btls.). At Struise, we never retire beers. At ratebeer, Beers are retired when a new batch is not bottled within 12 months. As Earthmonk takes 18 months to age on oak... we have to be patient.

Bottle. Very dark red brown color, almost black. Cloudy. Vinous aroma with cherry. Earthy, chocolate. Hardly any carbon. Vinous flavor with chocolate, grapes and cherry esters. Sweet but also with an upcoming sourness. Complex, will no doubt further gain depth while ageing. Great balance, great beer. A huge thanks goes out to Lachesis for tis beer.

Bottle pours dark brown with no head. Aroma is super tart. Smells almost like nail polish. Its that strong. Body is medium and full. Flavor is one of the most tart beers I’ve ever had. So tart I had a hard time figuring out where the flavors in this thing were. Maybe some oak and fruit. I don’t know. Just super sour. They were looking to make a sour and they did. Mission accomplished.

33CL bottle. Pours with a no head, and a deep, murky ebony brown body. Coats the side of the glass. Aroma of tartness, peaches (ripe), alcohol, caramel, burbon and sour tanins. Wine like acidity in the aroma. Taste is sour, but at the same time sweet with burboun/oak notes and a slightly metallic finish. Light to no carbonation. Interisting sour.

Murky brown, tan bubbles playing around on the surface. The nose is out of this world, effortlessly juggling: tart, dry wine; luscious berries; sugary chocolate malts; dusty, acidic sour qualities; faint balsamic notes. Flavor balances chocolate and caramel, sugary berries, plum, tart sour apple, alcohol and wood. Palate is ultra long and matches perfectly, moderate and smooth to go with the malt yet carbonated just enough to accent the sour elements. Complex, yet light and refreshing, and yet also a tightrope balance of contrasts. You can drink this fast. You can drink this slow. It was made to be drunk, so do so.

Pours a tar-like dark brown hue with almost no head. The aroma is of alcohol, apricots, lots of bourbon, and grapes - which gives it the sour smell. The flavor is sour straight through, with a somewhat of a metallic finish. Alcohol is present strongly in the flavor. Medium body, no carbonation. Has acidity like wine.

Bottle in a trade. Pours a cloudy brown body with a tan head. Woody vinous, balsamic vinegar, tart and very drinkable. Not as funky as i would have thought but still very enjoyable dispite the acidity.
