altonbrownd (1862), Amsterdam, Netherlands Nov 7, 2009 Bottle from De Molen. Ruby red body with slight white head. Nose of cherries and tart. Taste is very tart cherry and then gets a bit sour. Watery. Not much too it, and again not really my style of beer... But kudos for the collaboration and the Magritte nod. MatSciGuy (629), Rosemount, Minnesota, USA Oct 31, 2009 Pours cloudy dark cherry skin red with a few off white bubbles. Slight aroma of cherry and some lactic acid.
Flavor is fairly sharp, lots of tart cherries. Medium mouthfeel. Solid tart cherry finish. I’m a little bit disappointed by this offering from Struise. tytoanderso (1382), St. Louis Park, Minnesota, USA Oct 26, 2009 11.2oz bottle. This one has been high on my wants for a while, big thanks for Brad for the opportunity. Unfortunately, this one is a huge letdown. Tart pineapple brett and tart cherries on the nose. Pours a dark ruby pink with a thin off-white film atop. nearly lifeless. Flavor is rather bland. No cherry presence. Tart yeast. Tastes like watery, slightly carbonated cherry juice. Average body. Club soda carbonation with a dry finish. Damn... this could have been great. BDR (2139), Roseville, Minnesota, USA Oct 25, 2009 A red body with very faint whiteish head. Tart cherries on the aroma. A lightly sour body with cherries and a smooth carbonation that had a wonderful mouthfeel. diabel (1366), Aarschot, Belgium Oct 14, 2009 Bottle Hazy red body. Off-white head. Soft cherry aroma. Quite dry, lightly sweet, moderately sour flavour. Well balanced and very soft mouthfeel. caesar (3020), Bunnik/Utrecht, Netherlands Oct 12, 2009 Bottled. Clear reddish color, short off-white head. Aroma is very fruity of cherry, bit sweet. Taste of cherry, slight tart only, bit sweet, some carbonation. Decent beer. daknole (2805), Plantation, Florida, USA Oct 11, 2009 Reddish pour. pink head. Aroma of cherry pie and tart cherries. Flavor is tart with some berry vinegar and cherry pie flavors. Good shit! sayravai (3720), Helsinki, Finland Oct 3, 2009 (Bottled) Clear ruby color with a small, firm and pink head. Tart and sweetish aroma of cherries and cherry stones. Flavor is also cherries, with moderate tartness, but also plenty of sugars left. Medium body, medium carbonation, slightly thin. A decent fruit beer, but not very memorable as such. No point in spoiling Struiselensis by adding Kerasus, IMO.
