From tap. Pours almost clear and golden orange with a small dense off-white head. Aroma is yeasty and malty with a light fruity note. Clear alcohol presence and dense malty flavoured. Slight wooden and spiced. Mild fruity and dense malty finish. The violet flowers really give this a different twist. There are however many other Struise beers better than this, but an interesting brew.

Draught @ pré-ZBF 09 @ Alvinne: Alvinne-Struise beerfest.
Light unclear dark red amber color with a large, frothy - creamy, excellent lacing, fully lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, caramel, fruity, oak - vanilla, notes of flowers - perfume - soap - english porpurri toilet sniffer. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a long to average duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20090306]

Draught at Alvinne pre-ZBF09. Weak fruity aroma, hint of marcipan. Cloudy dark red amber colour. Small tan head. The flavour is mostly marcipan to me. Not as sweet as marcipan, though. Distinct bitterness in the finish. Fruity and vinous finish. I expect more from a beer this strength.

On tap at the Alvinne Pre ZBF 09 event. Hazy amber/russet. Good yeasty esters on aroma. Bit of herb. It’s ok, not up to the usual Struise standard, which to be honest is set so hiigh. Fruits are nice, but alcohol is a bit prevalent.

A Mes rate: draught at Alvinne Pre ZBF.
Murky amber colour with a good light beige head. Truly unusualy stuff. Floral and very perfumey with loads of chunky yeast. Excellent slightly sweet bready notes bolstered by the chewy alcohol. Faint estery notes with some good spicy hints in the finish. Very faint barrel notes throughout. Soft and warming. Lovely.

Tap at avlinne. Unfortunity it wasnt pouring correctly for whatever reason, therefore i only got a small sample. Alround rating: fruity ripe plums and vanilla character, woody tartness, alcohol is drying. An interesting beast, but im guessing that this is going to be changed into some other sort of beast over the course of time.

Draught Huge, very fine yellowish head, leaving textbook lace, over deep-red amber beer with slight haze. Pours like gushing from the tap. Almonds, perfume, toilet soap, rosepetals. Almonds, bit of oxydation, almondcake, rosewater. Medium bodied, very slick, pure gristfeel. Nice, if just a tad overperfumed. I was convinced rosewater had been added, until I learned about the violets...
