Commercial Description:
This Belgian Royal Stout was brewed as a tribute to one of America’s best pubs. Jennifer and Chris Lively who run the place may be proud of Ebenezer’s Pub. Not only do they have 35 beers on draught, most of these are hard to find Supreme Belgian Ales. Above that, they have one of the most extensive bottle-conditioned beer lists through different bottling dates we have ever seen. Not only can you drink almost any Belgian beer, the worlds best brewery’s are represented. A lot of the guests talk about the American Kulminator, yet with that difference that the Belgian inspired food, is simply great. Black Albert was brewed and crafted with a 100% Belgian ingredients. Pours a blacker than black beer with an inch of dark tan head that lingers as it cascades into itself. Nice aroma of bitter-sweet chocolate, fresh torrified coffee beans, barley, candy sugar, complex fruits, and floral hops. At the front, there is spiced baker’s chocolate, fresh mocha, caramel like barley touches, and underlying hints of dried fruits which marries the back of your palate and features a Top, and well integrated but not overbearing hop flavour. The after-taste is well balanced and shows a panorama of extreme sensations like chocolate and coffee bitters, a plum cake richness that covers the palate, and a crisp impression of hop bitters that brings elegance and freshness into this massive brew. 11.2 oz bottle. Pours a very dark cola with a medium light brown head. Aroma of roasted malt, burnt sugar and burnt dark fruit. Taste of roasted malts, burnt sugar and burnt figs. Very nice, but overpriced.

Black, inky pour with a tan head. Aroma is chocolately with some magic marker, coffee, smoke, and alcohol. Taste burns the tongue a bit: very bitter chocolate, dark fruits, burnt wood, bourbon, some alcohol. Full, thick, sIlky mouthfeel. You start to feel this brew after a while. Its unlike most imperial stouts Ive had, but its extremely good.

11.2oz bottle. Nearly black pour with a large head. Aroma of chocolate and richly roasted malts with a distinct sweetness. Drinks Fairly well, with some dark fruit [figs] and a some nice, biting hops bitterness, but it has a ton of alcohol and ends with an astringently alcoholic finish.

Black hole black, tan head. Aroma of burnt espresso. Very balanced malt and hops, dark chocolate flavor with bitter finish. Nice complexity.

Bottle thanks to aplusbreaks for sharing poured a translucent dark brown with a lingering ring of brown foam. Aromas of bitter chocolate, light coffee, light vanilla and a hint of fruittiness. Palate was light to medium bodied and smooth. Flavors of bitter chocolate, coffee, vanilla and a hint of licorice with a smooth roasty finish. Way over rated in my opinion.

Pours onyx black with a dense medium brown head. Robust aroma. I get some chocolate, coffee and creamer, some dark berries, and a bit of smoke. The flavor is a bit different. Kind of a fruity mocha with plenty of bitterness and alcohol. Silky, milky mouthfeel with plenty of carbonation. The finish is a bit bitter and hot. Still, this is a fine beer and is recommended.

Rating #200!!! Bottle major thanks to Phil aka 502Flavors. Awesome pour, absolutely humongous, thick creamy coffee tan head, black body. Aroma is initially small amount of alcohol, then some nice floral hops. Also some fruity notes in there too. Flavor is exceedingly clean and simple at first. Bitter chocolate, dried dark fruits, some mocha and hops. Extremely smooth, silky and creamy on the palate. A very nice finish that is slightly bitter and a slightly noticeable touch of alcohol which doesn’t take away from the brew. This is an excellent beer for such a high ABV that masks its alcohol very well.

Brewed in Belgium. Pours a very dark brown-black color with a med-creamy tan head. Aroma of chocolate coffee dark malts and a hint of alcohol. Taste is of rich chocolate molasses dark fruits hops and warming alcohol. Mouthfeel is creamy and think but not to heavy. There is a nice robust texture to this imperial that goes down very smooth. You dont even realize that there is 13% alcohol in this brew.
