Commercial Description:
This Belgian Royal Stout was brewed as a tribute to one of America's best pubs. Jennifer and Chris Lively who run the place may be proud of Ebenezer’s Pub. Not only do they have 35 beers on draught, most of these are hard to find Supreme Belgian Ales. Above that, they have one of the most extensive bottle-conditioned beer lists through different bottling dates we have ever seen. Not only can you drink almost any Belgian beer, the worlds best brewery’s are represented. A lot of the guests talk about the American Kulminator, yet with that difference that the Belgian inspired food, is simply great. Black Albert was brewed and crafted with a 100% Belgian ingredients. Pours a blacker than black beer with an inch of dark tan head that lingers as it cascades into itself. Nice aroma of bitter-sweet chocolate, fresh torrified coffee beans, barley, candy sugar, complex fruits, and floral hops. At the front, there is spiced baker's chocolate, fresh mocha, caramel like barley touches, and underlying hints of dried fruits which marries the back of your palate and features a Top, and well integrated but not overbearing hop flavour. The after-taste is well balanced and shows a panorama of extreme sensations like chocolate and coffee bitters, a plum cake richness that covers the palate, and a crisp impression of hop bitters that brings elegance and freshness into this massive brew. Bottle. Thick thick light brownish creamy everlasting head. Quite black colored. Excellent lacework. Complex and very filling aroma of burned malt, coffee, chocolate, liquorish, ash, mild spice, wood and vanilla notes. Over the palate came also dried fruit, mild yeasty and vinous notes. Very full bodied with an average carbonation and thick light dry texture. Flavor was heavy bitter with well balanced counter sweetness. Lingering burned malty and hoppy finish.

Aroma di malto tostato, caramello, cioccolato, con discreti sentori fruttati. Corpo rotondo. Al palato risulta ben bilanciata con un finale amaro.

Very dark brown, muddy with a big persistent lightbrown head. Aroma of overripe fruit (strawberries), sugar and burnt malts. Fruity taste, very sweet, thick and syrupy, but giving away a nice dry roasted bitterness in the end. Alcohol is very well hidden, but the texture gives away its abv. Nice beer, though it could have done with a little less syrupy sweetness and a more powerful roasted bitterness.

33 cl bottle - big thanks to brewczar for the trade; jet black with foamy tan head; slight roast and very sweet; tons of cream and smoothness in the texture; no hotness whatsoever as this was a delight to drink; almost lemony flavor to it; sweet spice and dank fruit as well; doesn’t feel 13% at all; texture is very unique

My Rating # 2000. 33cl bottle @ VinensVerden, Odense. Pours black with a creamy brown lasting head. Nose & taste is filled with chocolate, roasted coffee & dark dried fruits - very balanced, vinous & pleasant. Plenty of hops to be noticed in the end. Palate is smooth & soft like velvet. Rather uncomplicated - just really nice!
