Commercial Description:
Black Albert was used in a new barrel aging project. More than a year ago, Carlo was able to get his hands on a stock of Four Roses Bourbon barrels, and we happily filled them up with Batch „0". This unique creation was originally to be named 4 Black Roses in honour of its heritage, but our friends in Kentucky strongly advised us not to do so! What to do? As the disowned offspring of Black Albert, the name Cuvée Delphine imposed itself. Savouring the Belgian irony, we are most honoured to have artwork by Delphine Boël shining on this label. You will not find this ale all over the globe. There is no export program, but we will try to provide stock through our web shop and some specialty beer pubs.

Bottle 150 cl. Pours a cloudy opaque black with a creamy beige head. Aroma of hard roasted malt, a little metal and a warming alcohol bite. Distinctly full-bodied, soft mouthfeel, hard roasted malts and vanilla, a little low in carbonation. Distinct alcohol burn. Very soft, smooth and quaffable. 110709

LCRBM08, courtesy of Carlo and Urbain. Pours dark black/brown with a dense brown head. Aroma is smooth roasted malty and vanilla. Spiced and slight wineous. First flavour impressions are wineous and roasted malty. Smooth and mild chocolate malty over the tongue. Goes into a lovely fruity and slight warming and smooth finish. Perfectly balanced.

Bottled at Monk’s Café Wallingatan, Stockholm. Very black, beige head. Slight menthol aroma. Sweet and full bodied withsome asphalt. the whisky flavour is quite subtle, but takes the sharp edges of Black Albert and stills some of the inheritent brutality. Licorice mingles with bourbon in a careful finish. A tamed monster.

Bottled. Quite much black colour with mediumsized brown foamy head. Aroma is sour wood, mild roasted malts, caramel and some notes of alcohol. Flavour is liquorice, toffee, some wood, some alcohol, spices and also some dark riped fruits. Quite sweetish sour aftertaste with some toasted notes.

Bottled (BB 03/2014). Courtesy of bierkoning, thanks Edo! Opaque black color, thick tan head. Strong woody-oaky and earthy nose with hints of vanilla. Full-bodied. Licorice, roasted dark malts/chocolate, bourbon, some vanilla. Quite foamy mouthfeel. Aftertaste has tobacco, vanilla, alcohol and wood. Too much earthy barrel-wood flavors for my liking.
