Bottle from de Bierkoning. Amber with a small head. Herbal hops aroma. Well-balanced, semi-sweet fruitiness. Some herbal dryness towards the end. Decent Belgian blond ale.

Bottled. Aroma is quite yeasty, has citrus, some spice (pepper). Clear, golden-copper coloured beer with a medium, white head. The taste is slightly sweet, slightly bitter. It has earthy yeast, citrus, spice. Medium bodied beer, average carbonation. Okay, but not impressive.

Bottle from the Alvinne shop. Pours hazy golden with a minimalistic white head. Interesting yeasty nose, but also hops. Toast with marmelade nose. Flavors and palate are top notch as expected from struise. Well balanced, well spiced, great mouthfeel. Good medium long dry finish. A sessionable beer.

Hazy, deep golden beer with small white mousse. Light malty aroma with tones of spice, fruits and hop. Taste is soft with a light fruity tone (grapes) some pepper, yeast and green hops.

Bottle from Bierkoning, Amsterdam, consumed 08-11-09 Pours orange amber with haze, a light dusting of sediment also and with a light filmy head. Some spice and a very slight sour edge in the mouth and on the nose, soft in mouth but I find the spiciness a little harsh and this is that rarity a Struise beer that is merely fine and not great. 33 cl bottle. Hazy golden body with yeast whirling like in lava lamp. Really nice, actually. (Note: I was sober before I tasted.) White big head. Aroma has lactose, some yoghurt and little malty sweetness. Metallic taste. Other flavour notes are:- malty, quite nice but weak hop. Very interesting, somehow got a sense of lambic here. I like this one.
