TEJA (52), Stockholm, Sweden Jul 31, 2008 When a gang from Monks Cafe were down at the Struise farm for brewing a new beer, Urbain brought forward 2 different Dirty Horse beers in decanters. The 20 year old was a litle clowdy but had a marvelous smell of sour ale combined with stable and wet earht. The tast is sour but not as dry as a gueze and have a more complex maltiness. The taste lasts long and is supurb. airforce1 (61), Atascosa, Texas, USA Jun 24, 2008 Noordhoek Farm-
Lightly Carbonated with a soft, effervescent scent. Loads of Sour, dank, musty cherries, that evolves to an earthy, mushroomy, slightly barnyard aftertaste. Zinfadel like jaminess, with a slight pepperness hidden in each small sip. This beer constantly evolves with each miunte it is in the glass. lululegrand (87), gent, Belgium Jun 21, 2008 Noordhoek Farm Lo-Reninge. Thanks Philippe for letting me taste this very rare Struise Sour Ale. Cloudy orange ale with small white head. The head is not to long lasting but the beer has a very nice slight fizzy caracter. aroma is is not as dry a a gueze and not so sweet as a faro. Dirty Horse has a superb smell, lots of thing happens with the aroma, its like constantly changing. Malts, lemongras, sour fruits, but also wood, wet earth, leather, wax and horse saddle. Taste is very equal to the aroma, just think some old hops and wood with it and you will be close.
what a delicious beer. Thanks Phil for your time and letting me taste this fantastic beer. GilBier (64), Dendermonde, Belgium Jun 16, 2008 Updated: Jun 17, 2008At the Struise Farm in LO. Friday the 13th, well it looked more like my Lucky Day !
