The aroma was full of chocolate and alcohol. It poured Black with no head. This beer was so complex I couldn’t even begin to describe it. It had a medium mouth feel. It hid the 26 abv very well. Awesome Beer. Thanks again Struise skortila (2914), Bunnik, Netherlands

| 4.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 19/20 | Dec 29, 2008 Drunk at the Struise Farm. Black as night. Bourbon is quite present. What is amazing is that it is still quite distinctly a beer. Its a bit hot, but the intense choc/coffee stuns me. Its unlike anything Ive had. Like an Ultra Imperial Stout with bourbon, Its so smooth, some honey heat on end. Its not something I thought I would like, but its just som smooth and slightly creamy and the honeyish bourbon notes are a delight. Cannot wait for the 39% version lululegrand (94), gent, Belgium

Pours a thick and oily black nectar with a head on. Slight carbonated and very rich in the nose. taste is creamy and oil like, it is sweet, super delicious and it is a magnifications of its smaler brother Black Albert. Rich and hot on the pallet with a panorama of endless sensations of coffee, cocoa, Bourbon and soft alcohol. Carlo proudly served us this beer a small liquor glass.

Aroma is rich, roasted and boozy, with interesting sensations of dried raisins soaked in brown Rum, coffee chocolate and luchious sugars. This (Beer) is so thick and rich that the taste stays in your mouth for minutes. Its was offered and served in a small sample glass by master brewer Urbain himself. Thanks Struise for this unique treat. MesandSim (5964), London, Greater London, England
| 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Dec 14, 2008 A Mes rate. Again a far too full receptacle forced upon me at the farm, thanks so much Urbs. Just a little too much. This actually weighed in at a paltry 29% so Urbain eventually decided it should be watered down with Black Albert. Yes he did say that. Tsjeeses this is stupid, ridiculous, crazy off its knockers silly. Madder than a bag of frogs. You can feel it hitting like a sledgehammer with each sip and it takes your breath away with eisbock outlandishness. Blacker than the depths of space and erm... how the hell is it holding on to a head? Thick espresso strewn through a cafetiere with added beans of death, has this been dry beaned? Never mind dry hopping. Lashings of chocolate and following on in the same vein to the Delphine, the barrel notes are simply unsurpassed by anything. It is a bourbon concentrate chocolate liqueur and is just mind blowingly over the top but completely adorable. To quote a friend of mine... IMPOSSIBLE. MiP (9162), Sønderborg, Denmark

The aroma a very dark chocolate. some smoked malts. Dark overripe fruits. The taste is thick heavy. There is dark pure chocolate met strong coffee. The alcohol is well hidden. The aftertaste is smooth with a little vanilla, some bitter. How great a bear can be....
