Fruity, sweet, hoppy, watery, refreshing beer without any body. It looks a bit like ’karlsquel’ from the aldi but a lot more refined and without any stinking smell. I had expected more from a beer from the ’struise brouwers’. mabel (2626), Toronto, Ontario, Canada

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jan 16, 2009 Pours hazy gold with a twisting veil of fine sediment from the dregs. A one inch head of dense white froth settled down quite slowly, revealing clingy rings of lacework and a thick surface coating.
The brew was anxious to leave the bottle, as a slow gush was apparently immenent.
Lightly spicey and earthy in the nose. Peppery with cut grass, cumin, and hay. Hints of coriander, lemon pith, peach skins, and cloves.
Medium bodied with a effervescent, creamy mouthfeel. Crisp and snappy.
Light malt, earthy spice, and a wheat twang lead off the pallet. Quite hoppy in the "noble" sense, with plenty of pepper-studded cut grass, wet hay, and woody dryness.
Toasted cumin and ground coriander mingle with hints of dusty boards and a smidge of quanine.
Finishes persistantly drying, with a firm bitterness and lingering earthy tones.
This beer changes greatly in the glass. Super crisp and refreshing when cold, followed by some great yeasty complexities as it warms.
The amount of hops was unexpected and the beer touches the realm of Belgian IPA’s, Witbier, and Saison all at once.
The hint of quanine in the finish makes me wonder if some Brett is taking hold, which would be most excellent.
Big ups to BA Delerium for the opportunity!
