Struise-Mikkeller is as we said in the past "Best of two worlds". We delivered an IPA with 130 IBU, but a bitterness hidden the Struise way, counter balanced by maltyness, alcohol and rest sugars. People who do not like Ipa’s will actually be amazed, the general hop bomb addict will not understand, so yes this is a controverse brew... enjoy anyway!

Malty and sweet. That intense fruity sweetness you can get from some barley wines. Lots of carbonation. Spicy finish. Alcohol is noticeable.

pours a light sienna brown color, very dark for an ipa. large creamy head with very long retention. smells of mixed citrus, just a touch a of funk and of course copious hops. flover is a nice sour citrus with the bitter hops, i like the combination. don’t taste much honey or sweetness in this one.slight acetone finish on this one, but other wise the palate would be a 5. the acetone covers up some interesting flavors in there too. overall a great iipa, but not the greatest session beer. overall still very glad i bought it!

11.2oz bottle. Pours a hazy, amber-orange body with a huge, three-finger width, beige, rocky and foamy head that dissipates slowly and leaves a medium sticky lacing. Aroma is sugary pines, bitter grapefruits, and a sweet, doughy yeasty malt. Flowery as well with some kiwi, mild spices, and candies. Flavor is quite unique. A big, non-sweet bitterness really dominates. Its not a typical IPA. Slightly sweet caramels up, an ensemble of fruits with a bit of a resin, and some candy sugar before the unique hop bitterness comes in. Finishes with a light citrus zest, some spicing, doughy yeast, a bit of a booze taste, and a long lasting wooden bitterness. Dry and slightly tongue scraping after a light to medium body and tickling carbonation. Overall, a one-of-a-kind IPA. Very unique hop profile that seems to deter a lot of the other flavors unfortunately. Nonetheless, something different is always enjoyable when made well.

Bottle @Brugsch Beertje, yellow/orange colour, nice lacing and very stable white/beige head. Smell: very inviting fruity, caramel. Taste: very bitter, fruity, sugary, hoppy (a bit too). But very good IPA!

Kudos to STLWill for this brew Mcfresh. Thanks Will? Pours a murkey orange colour with a rocky beige head that leaves globs of lacing. The nose is not so hoppy, but fruity and clovey rather with some impressions of caramel and toffee. The flavour is candy sweet with floral hops, honey, melon and clove. The bitterness in the finish is a floral, fragrant bitterness. The palate silky without being syrupy. Good dry, hoppy aftertaste.

Bottle - thanks santa! - Pours ambery orange with a massive tan head...aroma is hop florals, dark fruit, wild flowers and candy corn...flavour is similar, nicely bitter, with a dry fruity malt that immediately follows, finish is lingering light resin and sticky burnt sugar...

Waxy, honey comb aromas and flavors, pollen, lemon, and citrus. Hops are deliciously evident. Some cloves. Creamy and solid.

Unique, imaginative, interesting, but also not on the same level as the top beers from these brewers. Juicy citric/floral hops (Amer Euro blend?). Sweet malt like a big saison. A very nice beer.
