- Joe Tucker, RateBeer.com

Struise-Mikkeller is as we said in the past "Best of two worlds". We delivered an IPA with 130 IBU, but a bitterness hidden the Struise way, counter balanced by maltyness, alcohol and rest sugars. People who do not like Ipa's will actually be amazed, the general hop bomb addict will not understand, so yes this is a controverse brew... enjoy anyway!

Bottle. A light and cloudy amber color. I found this beer so well balanced that I would never guessed it was a double IPA. Nicely hopped but matched with a considerable sweetness.

15-JUN-2009. Bottle @Den tatoverede Enke. It is quite dark in here, but yeast floating around in this beer is still obvious. This is really a nice DIPA. Very creamy, very hoppy, but still quite fresh. This is a perfect example of a DIPA, and a reason for DIPA’s being my favourite style. It is just an explosion of taste.

Bottle - Mondial de la Bière, Montréal. Hazy amber body with a huge white foamy head. Lovely malty/hoppy aroma with flowery, spicy and yeasty hints. Well balanced taste carries sweet, fruity and herbal notes. Ends with a decent, warming bittersweet finish. Well done.

Bottle @ Mondial de la Biere 2009
Appearance: fine haze on amber base , large creamy , pillow white top
Nose: amber malts with bit of funk , slight sourness , some faint hop
Flavor/Palate : Alcohol hidden. Soft with caramel , toffee mixes with does of wild funk and hops. Mid of barnyard field. Brew with element X. Complex but its formula did not worked magic on me.

Bottle @ Mondial 2009. Lots of citrus, malt and a hint of yeast, golden/apricot, small custard head. Flavour is a gorgeous malt, loads of lemon and some yeasty notes. Light bodied, beautiful balance, lovely mouthfeel, slightly tart, very refreshing. Wonderous!

Bottle, Mondial 2009. Light amber. Aroma is piny hops, small sweetness, hints of honey. Taste is quite light compared to what the aroma suggested. It had a candy/refined sugar sweetness. A bit nutty also. Hints of apples and light bubblegum. Taste is quite light on hops. Quite special brew. Really nice !

DIPA? Tasted more like a begium strong. A solid strong beer. I have trouble adjectifying it, because it was what it was. Minimal hops for a supposed imperial with lots of malts. Maybe I missed something. Might have to re-rate
