Struise-Mikkeller is as we said in the past "Best of two worlds". We delivered an IPA with 130 IBU, but a bitterness hidden the Struise way, counter balanced by maltyness, alcohol and rest sugars. People who do not like Ipa’s will actually be amazed, the general hop bomb addict will not understand, so yes this is a controverse brew... enjoy anyway!

Bottle @ Mondial 2009. Lots of citrus, malt and a hint of yeast, golden/apricot, small custard head. Flavour is a gorgeous malt, loads of lemon and some yeasty notes. Light bodied, beautiful balance, lovely mouthfeel, slightly tart, very refreshing. Wonderous!

Bottle, Mondial 2009. Light amber. Aroma is piny hops, small sweetness, hints of honey. Taste is quite light compared to what the aroma suggested. It had a candy/refined sugar sweetness. A bit nutty also. Hints of apples and light bubblegum. Taste is quite light on hops. Quite special brew. Really nice !

DIPA? Tasted more like a begium strong. A solid strong beer. I have trouble adjectifying it, because it was what it was. Minimal hops for a supposed imperial with lots of malts. Maybe I missed something. Might have to re-rate

Bu au Mondial 2009, le 4 juin (#14). Beige caramele brumeuse, petit collet. Arome d’houblon crèmeux, note de caramel anglaise. Goût très crèmeux pour son style, houblon légrement amère, la finission est amère/sûrette. Pas ma préféré mais agréable!

Bottle at PilsnerPeter’s Spring Gathering. Pours a hazy amber with a light white head. Smells oddly like a barleywine, with nice dark fruit aromas, but then contrasted with a nice bit of hops. Flavor profile follows the nose mostly ,with more deep fruit flavors before moving to a very clean hoppy finish. Really cool take on a DIPA.

Thick creamy carbonation. Smells sweet and strong, nose has depth. Carbonation is pinpoint, gives cream to mouthfeel. Palate is smooth and tick. Bitter hop aftertaste, a hint of yeast flavor too.

Bottle. A strong aroma of hops, some hidden sweetness and light soapy. A medium large white creamy head with a long duration. The body is red-orange, light cloudy and fizzy. The taste is bitter but mild with a long soft finish. The body is creamy with a lot of carbonation and medium strong.

bottle from Kulminator - Pours amber with a huge off-white head that laces well. The aroma is rich with amlt and dark fruit including cherries and grapes. It tastes of sweet malt and Belgian yeast up front with big hops then kicking in to lend it excellent balance. There’s a lingering moderately bitter finish to this very satisfying beer.
