| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | May 31, 2009 Bottle at PilsnerPeter’s Spring Gathering. Pours a hazy amber with a light white head. Smells oddly like a barleywine, with nice dark fruit aromas, but then contrasted with a nice bit of hops. Flavor profile follows the nose mostly ,with more deep fruit flavors before moving to a very clean hoppy finish. Really cool take on a DIPA. thewombat (112), Brooklyn, New York, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | May 31, 2009 Thick creamy carbonation. Smells sweet and strong, nose has depth. Carbonation is pinpoint, gives cream to mouthfeel. Palate is smooth and tick. Bitter hop aftertaste, a hint of yeast flavor too. TaxiDriver (946), Stadland, Germany

A medium large white creamy head with a long duration. The body is red-orange, light cloudy and fizzy. The taste is bitter but mild with a long soft finish. The body is creamy with a lot of carbonation and medium strong. patrick767 (2051), fort wayne, Indiana, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | May 26, 2009 bottle from Kulminator - Pours amber with a huge off-white head that laces well. The aroma is rich with amlt and dark fruit including cherries and grapes. It tastes of sweet malt and Belgian yeast up front with big hops then kicking in to lend it excellent balance. There’s a lingering moderately bitter finish to this very satisfying beer. Rastacouere (5565), Montréal, Quebec, Canada
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | May 26, 2009 Murky dark apricot hue wearing a refined, lacy ivory foam. Lively fruit salad is tropically enhanced by accurate banana bread yeastiness while the malt feels toasty, biscuity. Juicy all along, marrying esters with intense hop aromas. Actually quite sweet, almost sugary (french toast, pineapple juice), but the hops do manage to work around it. They do the same with the alcohol which goes straight to the head despite its subtletly in mouth and nose. As it warms up, further hops notes reach into sprucey territory, though avoiding astringence. A citrusy acidity enhances the drinkability. That kind of beer has been done a fair bit by now, but the execution and aroma’s honesty allow it to stand out. Still, it just feels too sweet. To my palate, those aromatic component feels like they would be at home in a drier offering, a feeling enhanced by the less active carbonation than is usual for Belgian hybrids. We also tried an ’extra’ version at Ebenerzer’s which scored somewhere around 160 IBUs and was fresher. This was just more hops and every bit as interesting. probstk (1064), Nepean, Ontario, Canada
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | May 20, 2009 33 cl bottle via Bieropholie, served at cellar temperature in a tulip glass.
App.: Clear amber with a generous light tan foam.
Aroma: Yeast and bread, warm spices, some esters, caramel, slightly lemony with some orange and restrained grapefruit, floral perfume, some light molasses and dark dried fruits, very slightly tangy, a little pine hops, woodsy, maybe a little cedar?, sweet and nice.
Palate: Medium body with restrained effervescence.
Flav.: Much like the nose – still lots of yeast/bread, more citrus than the nose, still some caramel and dried fruits, more hops – pine, earthy, woodsy, there is some alcohol, some light spice, the esters are almost gone; on swallowing, a nice amount of bitterness, some tang and some sweetness, all in balance, some citrus and cedar to finish.
Quite an interesting brew, certainly unique among double IPAs. DalzAle (512), Eden Prairie, Minnesota, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 18, 2009 Bottle. Very hazy pumpkin orange pour, plenty of foaming head and an aroma of hops and sour oranges. Flavor is very sweet raisins, malt, brown sugar, and some pine on the finish. An ok beer, but not worth the price of admission in my opinion. Ober (1232), Bommelerwaard, Netherlands
